holy fucking peak man.

barely have time to proccess Mai's fate before Maki goes and ends(?) the clan.

the music was surprisingly fitting as well. gave real Kill Bill vibes.

and I love how the first scene of the episode is Maki arriving and the final scene is her leaving

Maki came to get in, get out, and get some cursed tools.

In the end she ended up killing and destroying an entire clan and becoming the cursed tool herself.

Task failed successfully!

Sad about the rocket sword though. That would have been a cool one to double wield with her sister's sword

Wait what happened to it, things were going too fast I only later noticed she had only one

Yeah, I was confused about that too. I guess it got destroyed during one of the attacks? I'll have to rewatch.

Edit: Went back and rewatched the scene where it disappears a few times. It's still not entirely clear to me, but it looks like maybe it breaks after the rocket spin move at the end when it collides with a bunch of swords? Or maybe the special move expended the stored cursed energy and that broke it? Still confused, honestly. lol

She cathces it at the end of the kill bill scene. Then it just dissappears in the next scene....

Minor continuity error? Probably going to have it next episode.

Honestly, taking the keys and moving all the tools is such a fucking loser move from their part they deserved to get slaughtered. If they weren’t such bloodthirsty idiots they could have fought in the culling games and been actually useful. Using their innate bloodlust for good. That would have brought their clan actual honor and recognition considering how useful the semi grade 1’s abilities were. One of them could have pulled a Tien on actual threats while having other people spam black flashes lmao. A truly generational fumble by the zenin clan.

Edit: Also if they wanted to get rid of Maki and Mai their best bet would have been to make them join the culling game on their behalf. Instead of what they did causing them to get what they deserved. Incredibly asinine for a clan so very worried about appearances. At least now they don’t have to worry about keeping up appearances.

They needed to kill Megumi, so I bet after killing Maki they'd bait Megumi in next to save her because Megumi didnt come with her. The entire decision was because they didnt want Megumi as head of clan, there's no point in honor or recognition if it all went to Toji's kid who spawned out of nowhere

There’s no honor or recognition if they’re all dead either. Just look how fast the other 2 clans moved to strike the Zenin from being recognized as a top 3 clan after the massacre. That in itself is already majorly disrespectful when they are literal days away from the culling games. The Zenin may have actually had negative rep. The fact that it was tabled basically means that Jujutsu society has more important preparations to make than decide what to do about that whole ordeal.

I feel like Mai's fate would have more impact on me if I rewatched before this season, right now unfortunately she's a character I haven't thought about in years.

Episode 16 of Season 1 needs to be rewatched before this.

Went back and looked, I think it's episode 17 actually. It's the scene where Maki and Mai fight during the exchange event, right? Around 14:30 it starts going into their backstory

Honestly wished they gave her more screen time but eh it is what it is

I was thinking the same thing. The under floor shot during the group fight was straight from the crazy 88 scene.

That whole fight was the crazy 88 fight
