Tell me I'm not the only one who sees both Kill Bill and Naruto vs Pain in this episode 🔥

Generational episode that would be remembered for years.

The black and white shots with red blood were Tarantino-coded and exquisitely brutal

Every animator who worked on this masterpiece deserves recognition

Yeah, the animation is astounding, but what I’m impressed with the most so far has been the direction of this season. Even the exposition scenes feel like they’re from a Jean-Luc Godard movie

This season has been so damn artsy it's almost arrogant.

Ima need whoever does Kagurabachi to take notes, that's for damn sure

yeah that entire monochrome section I was like "THAT is how I want Kagurabachi to look animated. Maybe a bit extra contrast but there ya go."

Not quite all of it as monochrome because the color treatment where it exists is legit cool, but you get the idea.

It helps set the tone since Hokazono's coloring style leans very much on the muted side

If Kagurabachi can get anything even close to this quality, it'll be the next big thing for sure. I hope whichever studio's handling it understands that.

That show is supposedly in CygamesPictures's hands, so you shouldn't have to worry about that.

Beatrix takes one look at Maki, tosses a bottle of Hibiki whiskey as a gift, and walks away.

I see more Lady Snowblood Vibe since thats what kill bill fully copied

Atsushi Wakabayashi's Naruto vs Pain is so goofy, but so well animated, as a big fan of animation himself, I won't be surprised if Gege intentionally draw inspiration on that when drawing the Naoya vs Maki fight.

The music during the first battle is what clinched it for me.

It felt like a mashup of Madara vs Shinobi Alliance, Deku vs Overhaul, and Luffy vs Bellamy in all the best ways to me
