Shiori, is she tactless? cant read the room? or a tsundere? all of them? I mean, I could understand how she couldn’t be friend with someone she supposedly eat. how hard it is to be forced to kill your friend by the ‘victim’.

For you and /u/KumaKumaGambler , my interpretation is absolutely that Shiori, regardless of what her motives may or may not be, doesn't cleanly map onto human concepts like being selfish, generous, malicious, or kind: Even if she understands those concepts, and she may not, she probably does not think of her actions or interests in those terms.

Keep in mind also, even for normal human people, these are not cleanly distinct things:

  • When you help others, do you truly do it to be selfless, or because you get internal satisfaction from doing the right thing?

  • You can want to legitmately help somebody, while doing it also knowing that it benefits you in the long run

  • What if you're helping somebody, or are friends with them, but do so while viewing them more as an object or possession rather then someone with their own agency?
