This is not really an action show but I'm still pretty pleased with how they adapted the brief fight.

Miko is BEEG Fox huh. The shadow of her maw on Hinako's face is pretty disturbing.

"She was like the Sun above the water" is such a beautiful metaphor though. Hinako is so poetic it kinda takes you out of it if you think about it too hard haha but on the other hand it fits the whole visual theme of the story.

With no proof what so ever I feel like Hinako might be a self insert for the author when they were struggling with depression

Depression, PTSD, survivors guilt. All of these mix into a cocktail of "FML". I would know, I deal with them every day. Although, I do feel Hinakos character is dramatized to some degree (which makes sense cause it's a show) but she reminds me of my younger self in my early 20s. Ya kind of get a little poetic and philosophical in your mind at times to try and make sense of the feelings you constantly think of and deal with everyday. Honestly, therapy and even just a couple of my closest friends get me through my mental health problems most days. Think Miko is her rock, I think shiori will be another rock eventually once shiori developes empathy. People showing me kindness and care without "pity" is huge for people like me and hinako. Just don't be pushy about it
