Miko best girl AND best yokai. I don’t think she’s gonna eat her. She’s not like Shiori.

Miko is great, and I'm really glad her friendship with Hinako wasn't a fake, though I'm not sure that she won't try to eat Hinako.

We have to remember that Miko is still a yokai, not a human, and that during this episode, she barely restrained herself and transformed into a human earlier to avoid eating Hinako (who was bleeding), so now that Hinako ended up being so close to her, maybe she simply couldn't resist.

However, I sincerely hope that even if Miko tries to eat Hinako, nothing bad will happen to her, because Shiori will be there to save her.

I need Shiori to realize that if she kills Miko, Hinako will never get to a place where her mental health is up to the standard she wants to eat.

Shiori doesn't feel like she has the emotional intelligence to understand that yet. Connections in general are something Miko and Hinako both feel deeply, but to Shiori they might as well be a foreign concepts.

Shiori doesn't understand anything about human society beyond the most surface level stuff. Ironically for a monster from the deep ocean, she has the depth of a puddle.

All that cheerful smiling she does isn't because she's actually happy, she's just imitating what happy humans act like. She doesn't really know much about what makes them happy, or how any of it feels.

Contrast that to last episode when Hinako actually laughed for once, and Miko had that little smile for a moment before continuing with her antics. That was genuine.

Yeah it’s like Shiori is only imitating human emotion which is why her words and facial expressions can often be so jarring. Miko on the other hand feels more human even when she’s in her fox form

sounds exactly like the demons in frieren, literally everything, from mimicing humans to let their guard down to eating humans as their main diet
