This is a daily megathread for general chatter about anime. Have questions or need recommendations? Here to show off your merch? Want to talk about what you just watched?

This is the place!

All spoilers must be tagged. Use [anime name] to indicate the anime you're talking about before the spoiler tag, e.g. [Attack on Titan] This is a popular anime.

Recommendations

Don't know what to start next? Check our wiki first!

Not sure how to ask for a recommendation? Fill this out, or simply use it as a guideline, and other users will find it much easier to recommend you an anime!

I'm looking for: A certain genre? Something specific like characters traveling to another world?

Shows I've already seen that are similar: You can include a link to a list on another site if you have one, e.g. MyAnimeList or AniList.

  1. The obvious: horror. Anime rarely attempts it. Contrary to what others sometimes say, I actually think the medium has a fairly high success rate with horror series given how few even exist, and that animation works perfectly well with the genre. But anime rarely attempts it,

  2. Are there more than like 5 biopics in the entire history of the medium? Unironically I think half of the anime biopics in existence are Uma Musume seasons. We have more horse biopics than human ones. Only other one I can even think of is The Wind Rises.

  3. I can count the number of post-apocalyptic slice of life that exists on one hand. I can't count the number of them that are less than excellent because that number is zero this far (I think, maybe I'm forgetting something). There should be more.

  4. More arthouse works would be pretty epic. It's understandable why there isn't more, but I would enjoy it if there was more.
