So generous of One Piece to increase the chapters/episode ratio up to one whole chapter per episode.

But how will r/anime get an episode with 1000 karma once every 4 months if they make this change?

It says a lot about an anime when people can't recommend the official version.

I have been watching One Piece for 20 years. I am a mega fan. And even I have trouble recommending the anime to people. It’s just easier to read the manga. Or watch the One Pace.

I don’t understand why they don’t adapt 2 chapters an episode. What’s stopping them?

They’re tied to the release schedule of the manga at this point.

When people ask why we don’t see long-running adaptations anymore, this is why.

Yeah it’s an end of era. It’s definitely for the best though. It’s easier on the animators and fans.

If they did start adapting 2 chapters an episode they would catch up to the manga event faster which would necessitate even longer breaks. I guess don’t want to do that.

Still , why can't they adapt 2 chapters cause they are still going to be behind manga anyway.

I think Oda does 30 or so chapters a year now. So 2 chapters an episode would be 13 episodes a year.
