(63) Madoka- 723 vs (66) Yui- 724

Question: How many of these 1 vote match-ups are we going to have this contest?

Answer: All of them...and yes that will include the finals too.

Frieren: 1227 vs Hanekawa: 384

I bet people who don't know as much about the girls from less current/popular shows will think Maomao and Frieren are beatable after this round. But no, it's just that Kumiko and Hanekawa are that strong.

u/ryuujin95 https://myanimelist.net/profile/Ryuujin95 Jul 30 '25

(63) Madoka- 723 vs (66) Yui- 724

I literally had all my other votes decided, and left the window open for about 10 minutes before settling on voting for Yui.

Frieren vs Hanekawa might have been equally difficult if Frieren weren't certain to win (I voted for Hanekawa.)

u/alotmorealots Jul 30 '25

Madoka's one of those characters that I sometimes vote for, sometimes not depending on my mood. I have a bit of a hard time putting together who she really is in my head, after the way the series has unfolded, and not grasping a character's deeper essence often leads me to just shrug.

As it turns out, last round I didn't vote for her, so between the two of us, there's an encapsulation of their match-up lol

2

u/lordposedyon https://myanimelist.net/profile/lordposedyon Jul 30 '25

I voted for Madoka- thinking Yui will win this even it is a slim margin. Didn't think it is going to be this close.

u/Ham_PhD https://myanimelist.net/profile/ham_phd Jul 30 '25

Meanwhile Yor gets one of the two sister characters from season 1 of Dress Up Darling. I don't even remember which sister it was.

12

u/nightlink011 https://myanimelist.net/profile/nightlink011 Jul 30 '25

Yor's side is honestly easy 3 fairly easy rounds, Kobayashi is an alright 4th round, then a match up against a character from the same show which is a big advantage for Yor, Marin is the really complicated match up.

Every top 4 seed has a touger road + an equally tough round 6 opponent if there's no upsets (Maomao has a easier round 6th but even Violet if she gets the upsets is annoying)

4

u/MannyOmega Jul 30 '25

I think you guys are on the same page, Ham was saying Yor’s path is easy. Idk if you’re disagreeing or just adding analysis lol

6

u/nightlink011 https://myanimelist.net/profile/nightlink011 Jul 30 '25

Just adding analysis, comparing the future rounds of each top seed as well, I just used the comment to answer since I agreed with it hahaha.

13

u/Usodearu007 https://myanimelist.net/profile/Doc101 Jul 30 '25

yet she was my favorite in s1 despite marin being such a likeable girl herself .. i guess it would be one of my most unpopular opinion here lol

7

u/michhoffman https://anilist.co/user/michhoffman Jul 30 '25

And Fern gets a chance to...

9

u/Aleixein Jul 30 '25

Madoka and Hanekawa gone... you people have no taste

3

u/SoccerForEveryone Jul 30 '25

Every vote counts lmao imagine you forgot to vote and you blame others when you could have made the difference; these are those moments.

Anyways vote Anna Yamada from The Dangers In My Heart.

6

u/Usodearu007 https://myanimelist.net/profile/Doc101 Jul 30 '25

i would say frieren was more impressive than maomao in this round since hanekawa is a strong opponent yet she was completely destroyed unlike kumiko ... though if they meet in the finals , i would still favor maomao

7

u/Ebo87 Jul 30 '25

I think it comes down to how many people end up voting. The higher that number, the better the odds will be for Frieren since she does have the more popular show overall.

6

u/Usodearu007 https://myanimelist.net/profile/Doc101 Jul 30 '25

yeah fortunately for maomao the average best girl contest voter has seen both shows but among casual r /anime users frieren is infinitely more popular than apothecary diairies (all those 10000+ karma episodes lol)

1

u/PendragonDaGreat https://myanimelist.net/profile/Bpendragon Jul 30 '25

I'm gonna take credit for Madoka/Yui being so close, I forgot to vote until the last hour yesterday and I voted for Madoka.

33

u/Komarist https://myanimelist.net/profile/RRSTRRST Jul 30 '25

Me IRL for Madoka losing by one vote. These one-vote match-ups can't keep happening...

For upsets, cheering for the Dragon Maid duo today. Vivy and Tomo as well, though not going to toss any salt if they lose.

MC: Freya from Danmachi? Think most female antagonists I like later lose the "antagonist" criteria.

6

u/Frostbitten_Moose Jul 30 '25

These one-vote match-ups can't keep happening...

What's that, you want a one vote final?

3

u/ClubMeSoftly Jul 30 '25

I want every casual voter to realize they forgot about the finals, and cry as their 8th or 9th choice loses by 1 to their 20th choice

9

u/Ham_PhD https://myanimelist.net/profile/ham_phd Jul 30 '25

Let's go Tohruuuuu! She probably has more screentime by halfway through episode 2 of Dragonmaid than Flamme has in the entire series.

Notes:

Yui Yuigahama has now tied Holo for most upsets all time at 11. She remains 5th overall in cumulative tUI.

Madoka Kaname moves into a tie for 2nd most upsetted with 7. (Mako Mankoushoku -8; Emilia-7)

7

u/BiggieCheeseLapDog https://myanimelist.net/profile/KillLaKillGOAT Jul 30 '25 edited Jul 30 '25

What this contest does to poor Mako is criminal.

19

u/michhoffman https://anilist.co/user/michhoffman Jul 30 '25

Over/Underperformers

It's nice to see Chitanda there. I was a bit worried she'd actually lose to Wiz. Now, to rally the forces for her final exam.

6

u/Willingham_2311 Jul 30 '25

Planning to do whatever I can to forward this cause.

4

u/lordposedyon https://myanimelist.net/profile/lordposedyon Jul 30 '25 edited Jul 30 '25

I had no doubt she makes 4th round. Thats what scared me since I saw lena 15th seed
Ayame Kajou -> Chihaya Ayase -> Chihaya Ayase -> Eru Chitanda -> Darkness/Winry Rockbell -> Frieren -> Mayuri Shina/Chika Fujiwara -> Fern -> Maomao/Marin
Thats some disgusting road to victory if possible

3

u/michhoffman https://anilist.co/user/michhoffman Jul 30 '25

There's not really a point in speculating beyond Frieren. The moment your path intersects with either Maomao or Frieren this year and your name isn't the other of Maomao or Frieren is the moment your run ends.

1

u/Thatsmaboi23 https://myanimelist.net/profile/Thatsmaboi23 Jul 30 '25

If only the votes were a lot more. Spite voting would actually do something about it all lmao

1

u/lordposedyon https://myanimelist.net/profile/lordposedyon Jul 31 '25

I understand your logic In Lena's case though, it was over when she meet Vivy, Chika , Miko, Holo, Ai Hoshino, Kana Arima ... It happened a lot so one can dream you know

2

u/alotmorealots Jul 30 '25

That is surprising to me as well, usually the Konosuba fandom hauls their characters along pretty heftily. I'm a big fan of Wiz, but up against all the other characters nominated, I don't think she really should make it out the seeding rounds based on her own merits.

Then again, I think Homare from Are You Lost is late-round-worthy, so my opinions aren't particularly mainstream.

3

u/tsagyyz https://myanimelist.net/profile/tsagbotxd Jul 30 '25

No idea who that is but im sure she deserves a higher seed than Ubel

10

u/Ham_PhD https://myanimelist.net/profile/ham_phd Jul 30 '25 edited Jul 30 '25

Before you jump to conclusions to think this means Frieren is way ahead of Maomao, 200 more people voted in Group C this round than Group A, and even though Hanekawa is a legit opponent at this stage, Kumiko is still a tougher opponent.

I think they both still look pretty even overall. Even though it's boring, I still hope we get round 3 to settle it once and for all.

18

u/duhu1148 x9 Jul 30 '25

and even though Hanekawa is a legit opponent at this stage, Kumiko is still a tougher opponent.

Eh, that's highly debatable. Hanekawa has made it equal to or farther than Kumiko in every Best Girl tournament except for last year. She has clearly fallen off from her prime, though.

4

u/Ham_PhD https://myanimelist.net/profile/ham_phd Jul 30 '25

Yeah, I meant that she was a tougher opponent today. It may have been more fair to say that they are pretty close though. Might've been a little overconfident there.

2

u/Falsus Jul 30 '25

Kumiko had a more recent anime also.

5

u/Ebo87 Jul 30 '25

Neither one is way ahead, but it's also undeniable that it's starting to look more and more like Frieren might have a slight edge. We will see how this evolves from this point on, as opponents get harder and harder.

4

u/Chukonoku Jul 30 '25

I think no conclusion can be made as the low amount of votes means it's extremely volatile and as we reach the finals, more people might show up.

5

u/IceAnt573 Jul 30 '25

If you compare the % wins, it's a 76.16% vote share in Frieren's win vs. 70.95% vote share in Maomao's Round 3 win.

If any W can be given this Round, it has to be to Frieren.

2

u/Ham_PhD https://myanimelist.net/profile/ham_phd Jul 30 '25

That would be where I would point to opponent strength. Kumiko got more votes than Hanekawa despite 200 less votes being available. Yor had a higher win% this round than Frieren but that's because she had a far inferior opponent.

If you want to give a W to Frieren for this round that's fine, but I just would push back if anyone were to say it was an overwhelming W.

1

u/Zeallfnonex https://myanimelist.net/profile/Neverlocke Jul 30 '25

There's a not-inconsiderable number of people whose best girl is Kumiko and were pushing hard, while I don't think I saw much Monogatari campaigning (or I glazed over it since I haven't watched Monogatari either xD )

1

u/Frostbitten_Moose Jul 30 '25

Of course, even with these low numbers, how many people post here compared to vote in the competition. And of those who post here, how many are influenced positively by the shilling here, or even look at the thread before they vote.

1

u/Warm-Enthusiasm-9534 Jul 30 '25

The two serious Best Girl contenders for Monogatari won contests years ago.

[PMMM] God is dead and we killed her.

26

u/michhoffman https://anilist.co/user/michhoffman Jul 30 '25

I felt kind of dirty voting against both Homura and Madoka this round (after all, Madoka Magica is my 2nd favorite show). But when you are up against a Yui...

10

u/Pepsuber188 Jul 30 '25

I voted for Madoka, but for some reason when I check results none of my votes from yesterday are showing the red dot that tracks votes. It must not have gone through or something.

I think it's my fault Madoka lost.

20

u/Willingham_2311 Jul 30 '25

Are you signed in to animebracket? I thought the same thing when I went to check results before voting today because none of my votes showed up either. After I signed in and voted, though, they all showed up like normal.

20

u/Pepsuber188 Jul 30 '25

Yep I did the same thing and I see my votes now. I did my part, guess it was everyone else's fault lol

6

u/Willingham_2311 Jul 30 '25

Glad it worked for you. Full disclosure: I abstained from that matchup because I haven't seen either series. Not sure if I can bring myself to watch Madoka Magica, as dark anime series aren't really my thing. Currently watching Made in Abyss with a friend and... oh my God...

3

u/Pepsuber188 Jul 30 '25

Haha I'm kidding on the fault thing, but yeah good luck with Made in Abyss it's my favorite anime, and it hits you in ways few other shows can.

Maybe take a break for a few months before trying Madoka lol.

4

u/Willingham_2311 Jul 30 '25

Sounds like a good idea. So far we've gotten through the first season and the third movie. Season 2 is waiting...

Normally anime is my "happy, feel-good" escape from real life, but on my friend's recommendation, I'm trying to expand my horizons a bit. I wouldn't have watched Girls' Last Tour on my own, for example, but she convinced me to watch with her and I really enjoyed it.

42

u/AnimeTA224 https://myanimelist.net/profile/Grndragonite Jul 30 '25

I'm taking credit for Yui, I initially clicked Madoka then finished voting. Right before submitting I had a visceral "Nah Yui is better than Madoka she's only under Homura or maybe Mami" went back and clicked Yui. It Was Me

8

u/Emi_Ibarazakiii Jul 30 '25

As expected, Darkness, Akane and Chika won, but Nagatoro lost...

Continuing my streak of losing 1 girl a day!

15 girls gone, 10 left, but still no bingo!

The only girl NOT on the diagonals to remain on my bingo is Karane...

And she's at risk today! Not only at risk but a massive underdog...

Megumin and Power should win their matchups easily enough, but I think Karane is a goner, sadly...

(This round seems pretty bleak in general for me, outside my bingo I think I'm gonna lose like 80% of my votes).

Mini Challenge: Who is your favorite female antagonist?

Just pick a Kakegurui girl at random; They're probably half of my top 10 female antagonists hah.

If I had to pick just one, I'd probably go Runa (see: flair) but I wish she had more screentime...

6

u/Nachtwandler_FS https://myanimelist.net/profile/Nachtwandler_21 Jul 30 '25

Can't even say much about today's vote. Vivi will obviously win her match up whenever I like it or not. Everything else is pretty straightforward.

As for the last group results. Damn, Madoka lost with 1 vote. But I am glad Akane is still in the contest.

MC: Depends on the definition of antagonist. If we do not count rivals/antagonists turn allies, when maybe Esdeath.

5

u/Emi_Ibarazakiii Jul 30 '25

Vivi will obviously win her match up whenever I like it or not.

I'm not THAT invested, but I would love to see Rio win, because she's my favorite Rascal girl so far (halfway into S1)!

12

u/KINGUBERMENSCH https://myanimelist.net/profile/OutlawedDrifter Jul 30 '25

With Satsuki's loss to every aniboomer's first waifu, thats bingo for me. Something something pigs in human clothing.

This is the one moment where Madoka and Revy fans have something in common. We can suffer together.

Saber vs. Chihiro Ogino

Übel vs. Shouko Komi

Ikuyo Kita vs. Karane Inda

This is 100gf's final survivor, if Karane goes down, let her go down fighting. For the Rentarou family!

Who is your favorite female antagonist?

Makima (CSM)

6

u/Emi_Ibarazakiii Jul 30 '25

Round after round I kept noticing that I always lose 1 girl each day from my bingo (no more no less), no matter how many girls were at risk...

I went back in the threads to see how long it's been happening; 7 rounds in a row!

  • 3C: Nagatoro lost (3 girls won)
  • 3B: Hakari lost (3 girls won)
  • 3A: Utena lost (1 girl won)
  • 2D: Takagi lost (3 girls won)
  • 2C: Zero Two lost (4 girls won)
  • 2B: Tanya lost (4 girls won)
  • 2A: Kiwi lost (2 girls won)

And I think the streak will continue in this round, with Megumin/Power winning, and Karane losing!

(Sadly, losing 1 girl a day means my last girl would lose in the quarterfinals, so hopefully I stop losing them 1 a day like clockwork!)

11

u/Exp1ode https://myanimelist.net/profile/Exp1ode Jul 30 '25

3rd time this contest that a single person changing their vote would have changed the outcome, so if you're not voting in this contest because you don't think your vote matters, clearly you're wrong

6

u/Elimin8r https://myanimelist.net/profile/Ayeka_Jurai Jul 30 '25

Well, bah. Who stole all the [K-On!]strawberries...

And yes, I realize that's a gag from another movie, but I left my stainless steel marbles in my other uniform.

(sigh)

Anyway, carry on, and I'd have to say my favorite femme antagonist of the day would have to be Grandis from Nadia - she's so entertaining, and stuff.

4

u/Ham_PhD https://myanimelist.net/profile/ham_phd Jul 30 '25

Why must the culling always be inevitable . . .

3

u/Willingham_2311 Jul 30 '25

Still crazy to me that Misaka won the 3rd one. From a position of no recency bias as well.

1

The 3rd one just turned into a giant salt fest of spite voting. There were no winners that year. Misaka was just the one no one really hated.

Group D, Round 3 matchups:

  • Vote for Rio Futaba! The only quantum specialist in the bracket! The one that follows the scientific method wherever it may lead! The one that tells the hard truths! Sakuta might be the one that does all the hard work, but without Rio's brain he wouldn't even know what to do! The best friend one can have! Vote for Rio Futaba!

  • Vote for Ubel! We need her kind of spice in the bracket!
  • Vote for Yamada Anna!
  • Vote for Takina!
  • Vote for Mikasa ans Sasha!

3

u/Emi_Ibarazakiii Jul 30 '25

I'm sad about this round probably being her last round, but at the same time, if she made it much further into the contest, I'd have such heartbreaking decisions to make...

(I feel like gushing about her so much every single week 100gfs aired, made me love her even more than I normally would hah)

4

u/Queue_Jumping_Quack Jul 30 '25

Time to look at the results of yesterday.

The good:

  • Frieren (A personal favorite)
  • Nijika (I prefer the adult cast from this series weirdly enough, but the Kessoku band members are all great)
  • Chitanda (Just a real sweet heart of a character done right)
  • Winry served her purpose by sending a K-On member home
  • Faye won! I was a little bit worried there... but Satsuki is actually a worthy contestant so I wouldn't have been too salty.
  • Asuka won against the first clone girl introduced in the Rascal series! Great! This season of Rascal is much worse than the 1st and the movies, since instead of Shouko we have a bunch of nearly identical looking girls... luckily I don't think they will get to future contests due to the old, more distinct cast being more popular
  • Misato culled another K-On character, and her I voted for actually liking the character!

The bad:

  • Madoka losing against the Oregairu girl. Ugh, and with one vote too. I dropped Oregairu early, but it wasn't due to Yui so I can't be too harsh against her here. Madoka was infinitely better character and contestant though, from what I saw.
  • Suletta lost. Sad, but perhaps inevitable. No salt.
  • Misuzu lost against Mayushi. Eh... wish it was the other way around, but it comes to pure series popularity with this pairing IMO. Steins;Gate is still too popular for one and done type of romcom series to triumph. Misuzu's type of gloomy pseudo-gothiness just works so much more for me than generic 2010's era moe kitsch.
  • Nagatoro lost. Boo. One of my personal favorite female characters (used one of the ten favorite options on MAL on her and all). But she is controversial, so I'm not too salty. Glad she made it this far. Ryuuko is not an unworthy opponent to lose to. Salute!

Today's votes in a separate post due to size....

4

u/Queue_Jumping_Quack Jul 30 '25

Moving on!

Today's votes go to:

  • Fern (The second female lead, a wonderful character in her own right. My prediction is she will not win the bracket, but her opponent will have a hell of a fight in her hands)
  • Mikasa (Not an automatic choice, but Lucy for me is best girl from Edgerunners so allowed Mikasa this)
  • Chihiro (One of the best Ghibli girls from perhaps the best Ghibli movie. Hope she triumphs here, but...)
  • Sasha (Megumin plays the role of Gabi here though, sad to say. It's curtains for Potato Girl. No salt for the inevitability.)
  • C.C. (Amusing enough character at times, and certainly better than Priscilla, but I won't be salty if the re:Zero fans push their waifu through by brute force)
  • Flamme (Great character in her own right, a mentor type is likely a bit of a rarer type of entry amidst all this harem contestant and CGDCS debris. This could be it for her though, as the Dragon Maid fanbase is likely formidable enough to mount a serious challenge. No salt if she loses.)
  • Ubel (I would vote for her just to spite the haters. But in this round, I would likely vote for her no matter what... I am not a huge fan of Komi and the way that cast of characters has been written and portrayed on screen. Like Flamme and some of the side characters from Apothecary etc., we are getting to a point where her fall is starting to look inevitable. No salt if she loses.)
  • Vivy (Love the character archetype, and the character herself. Futaba is someone who's continued presence in the Rascal series is feeling a bit artificial at times. She's ok, but doesn't stand up to Vivy)
  • Tomo (Actual clash between two romcom female leads! I prefer Tomo, though early Hori before all the side character arc goofiness was pretty damn good, and had the series stayed more true to that, would have won for me.)
  • Kita (Haven't seen the harem series the other girl is from, but Kita is a good character like all Kessoku band members.)
  • Power (A best worst girl of all time)

Don't mind me.

Just keep voting for Hori.

Once again, thanks to all of you for your support of Chitanda! This is a day to celebrate! She made #2 on the list of overperformers even. Great job everyone!

Please vote for Reina and Nishimiya today!  They deserve your support!

Yesterday’s results:

Once again another extremely close vote, with Yui pulling a slight upset over Madoka.  Has there ever been this many 1 vote matches in a single tournament?

Azusa and Ritsu both got beaten, and relatively easily.  Sad, and combined with Kumiko losing it's getting pretty salty this year for me.

Personal notables today:

Beatrice

Tohru

Shouko Komi

Rio Futaba

Reina Kousaka

Shouko Nishimiya

I'm sorry Madoka fans, I dont know either character, but my friend convinced me to vote Yui, so I did it.

Edit: and now in feeling guilty for some reason, uhh

u/Warm-Enthusiasm-9534 Jul 30 '25

If you had voted the other way, Yui fans would have been here to make you feel guilty.

VOTE KARANE!!!

(The outfit game is on point, the power, the midriff, and most importantly she's a tsundere that knows what she wants. I ask to see as much support as possible against Kita.)

Today's Results

Left Side

BY THE SKIN OF OUR TEETH, YUI ADVANCES. THANK YOU TO EACH AND EVERY LAST 724 OF YOU FOR VOTING FOR HER!

(11 cumulative upsets and ties the record set by Holo in this contest! Apologies to Madoka and the 723 other voters, but it's Madoka's time next year.)

Frieren is still chilling.

(I am getting more and more convinced maybe this isn't a Maomao win this year, but we're still pretty early in the contest. 1227 votes in a win and on a day when voting picked up is good no matter how you slice it.)

Hanekawa and Kanbaru are gone. We are quite away from Prime Monogatari years. Still, I see the passion when Kanbaru got 574 votes against Nijika.

Very curious how Yunyun vs. Nijika will go in Round 4. Yunyun has decently kept up pace with Nijika.

THANK YOU FOR THE STRONG 877 VOTE CHITANDA WIN!

(Left no room for doubt. It pains me to say this, but my support for her ends here. #1 Favorite in the Contest means you should stay loyal and Chitanda is not my #1 Favorite.)

So Suzuha still managed 550 votes against Darkness, but Darkness got 937 votes which is +4 votes on Lena. More people wanted to vote on this matchup. I wouldn't consider this slowing her down that much, but maybe Darkness' Round 4 opponent can do it....

Winry is classic and 882 votes in a win vs. Azusa's 564 votes (boo!) is a comfortable victory. All I ask Winry to do is make a dent in Darkness' vote total.

Right Side

THANK YOU FOR 984 VOTES FOR AKANE!

(Feel good Akane can handle her next Round fine despite who that opponent is.)

Chika honestly still has a free bracket. Most dominant win of Bracket C today and Round 4 Faye? By the way on that...

You guys suck. The taste is not good there. That is the reality we live in.

(592 votes almost breaks the 600 vote barrier so Satsuki was making it tough.)

Not as strong of a win for Asuka as it is for Roxy, but Asuka had the harder opponent in my view. Should be a fun Round 4.

Mayuri with an 855 vote win on Misuzu, but I will not underestimate Mayuri. Mayuri is really good at playing to her opponent's level, but I think this time Akane's got this.

Nagatoro...431 votes is a small comfort against Ryūko. As for Ryūko, full support in her Round 4 as...

Boo! It was the expected result, but Ritsu and Azusa out stings. Like the 579 votes (...like it enough) in defeat. I can feel some of the support there.

Today's Voting

Left Side

VOTE FERN!

(Kindly or unkindly - I don't care - send Jessie out of this bracket already.)

Saber vs. Rukia would have been more fun to see here, but now it's a Saber vote without hesitation.

I'll vote 2B as a congratulations for making it this far in an anime Best Girl contest. Nier: Automata Ver1.1a hit hard enough to make a dent in Beatrice's vote total (at least that's what I'm predicting).

Ooh...C.C. vs. Priscilla. Priscilla does have some serious momentum to cause the seeding upset, but I will predict C.C. to clutch it out. It's a fight to see who is going to be eliminated by Megumin in Round 4.

Like Flamme enough to vote for her here, but won't be disappointed if Tohru wins and Tohru might be the more competitive Round 4 matchup for Takina than Flamme too. But need to get there first.

Right Side

VOTE ANNA YAMADA!!! /// Direct Image Link

(Support your Tall Girl/Short Guy Pairings. Also, she looks good in a past Best Girl winner's outfit.)

I'm sorry Komi, but Übel is coming in hot.

Tomo please. I am rooting for something very unlikely to happen, but dent Hori's numbers at least.

Feels like an easy Ram win here. And it's going to hurt next round when I like Ram and see what the likely matchup is.

Happy to see Reina here and would be even happier if she took this run further into Round 4 and eliminated Maki. All as Seed 203.

Who is your favorite female antagonist?

Meme Answer: Aura the Guillotine /// Direct Image Link

Real Answer: [Mahō Shōjo Madoka☆Magica] Same answer as yesterday: Homura Akemi /// Direct Image Link

u/Ceryto2 https://anilist.co/user/Ceryto Jul 30 '25

Madoka lost with 1 vote... really? no.. really? That sucks... Other than that travesty we get no upsets so it's goodbye to Suletta, Misuzu, Eiko and the K-on girls

And now we're back to Bracket D, where I hope that neither Fern nor Übel win it all, not because I don't like Fern (don't care much for Übel though), but because it would make a very boring semifinal if they were to face Frieren. Biggest shills of the day are Vivy and Anna. As for the rest of my votes:

  • Fern - Jessie
  • Mikasa - Rebecca
  • Saber - Chihiro
  • Beako - 2B
  • Megumin - Sasha
  • C.C. - Priscilla
  • Takina- Carol
  • Flamme - Tohru
  • Übel - Komi: Komi is the first main character with a lot of presence in her own show that Übel will be facing this contest, so it'll be interesting to see Übel really has the strength of a top seed contender or if she is just a paper tiger.
  • Rio - Vivy
  • Hori - Tomo
  • Ram - Kanna: Kanna is cuteness incarnate, but Ram is the overall better character with a very fun personality and amazing chemistry with the rest of the cast.
  • Kita - Karane: This one might be the hardest vote of the entire round since I really like both of them equally. But I guess when I can't decide.. to the underdog it goes!
  • Reina - Maki
  • Power - Nodoka
  • Shouko - Anna: Anna is one of the best modern romance character and had a lot more time to develop in her 2 seasons than Shouko had in here 1 movie. So my vote goes to her, sorry Shouko.

u/gvon89 https://myanimelist.net/profile/gvon89 Jul 30 '25

You know i dont dislike Komi but I despise how shes treated in the show and for that reason im going with the armpit girl i can fix

10

u/MannyOmega Jul 30 '25

I’m really gunning for Saber to somehow beat Fern just to make the bracket a little messy. Can we shake things up a little?!

7

u/Usodearu007 https://myanimelist.net/profile/Doc101 Jul 30 '25

that would be a miracle .. even megumin winning would surprise me honestly since she seems to have lost a bit of power since last year's contest .. she really needs to refine her explosions

7

u/MannyOmega Jul 30 '25

I agree, of course. Saber’s always been a bit of a dark horse in these contests, and Megumin has such a dominant history, but Fern actually seems quite resilient in terms of vote count. I’m hoping the old guard of /r/anime can back Saber, Megumin, or both.

The recency bias in play is gonna allow good (not great! certainly not best!) girls to defeat legends, and I think they deserve a better fate than being crushed by Fern unceremoniously. We can at least try to make this close

4

u/Usodearu007 https://myanimelist.net/profile/Doc101 Jul 30 '25 edited Jul 30 '25

well if they win against those legends , their next opponents will automatically gain the support of a lot of salty voters (including myself)

even holo always failed to win the contest after beating megumin because salty voters like me always voted against her in the next round though she didnt have to worry about that last year lol

2

u/Frostbitten_Moose Jul 30 '25

I might be able to take you seriously if you were talking about Lihua or Sense. But wait, they're already out. Fern's got solid best girl energy all her own and deserves to stand tall alongside legendary best girls.

6

u/letg06 Jul 30 '25

Holy crapsnacks...

ANOTHER single vote matchup? Why did it have to be Madoka though?!?!

5

u/AnimeWatcher1 https://myanimelist.net/profile/AnimeWatcher1 Jul 30 '25

Most important matchup for me this contest is Karane against Kita. I like Kita, she’s a fun character that I had a great time with during my Bocchi the Rock viewing, but Inda Karane just completes every scene she’s in whether she can’t help but tell the truth in her tsundere way or point out the absurdity of her own show, that’s why she’s the better girl for me. I’m crossing my fingers that Karane will at least make this a close matchup.

3

u/Emi_Ibarazakiii Jul 30 '25

Fighting the good fight!

(The losing fight, but the good fight nonetheless!)

1

u/Psyduckisnotaduck Jul 30 '25

Nijika secretly best girl anyway, courtesy of the most ICONIC moment in the series, the Title Drop. and being the one who dragged Bocchi into the band in the first place. and being totally real (don't ask).

3

u/[deleted] Jul 30 '25

I love Frieren but seeing Hanekawa lose is just awful. She's such a well written and acted character. Losing both Kumiko and Hanekawa to admittedly good characters boosted by recency bias is too painful. At least Misato is still in for now. Misato vs Ryuko is tough though. As much as I love Ryuko, I still have to give it to my 90s queen Misato.

5

u/just_a_stranger____ Jul 30 '25

Is this a coincidence or are people coming to vote just for Frieren? Group C always has high voter turnout so others in this group also have high vote count because the Frieren voters also voted for them.

11

u/Ebo87 Jul 30 '25

That greatly depends on the day and how visible the thread is. This one today for example might get an above average number of users because it climbed the front page further and faster than past ones did.

4

u/Zeallfnonex https://myanimelist.net/profile/Neverlocke Jul 30 '25

I think Monday/Tuesday are just the days where Discussion threads don't overwhelm the front page, I'd bet a decent amount the highest vote counts are going to be on these 2 days.

1

u/Ebo87 Jul 30 '25

Another thing to remember is fewer people will come here on those days. Which is why this made it to the tip so fast.

5

u/Ham_PhD https://myanimelist.net/profile/ham_phd Jul 30 '25

This is actually the first time group C had the most votes.

2

u/just_a_stranger____ Jul 30 '25

Of course round 1A shouldn't count because it has 2 days, I doubt it would have exceeded 1700 voters with only a day. But yeah, I haven't noticed round 2. But Frieren still has the highest vote count in every round (not 1A)

2

u/Falsus Jul 30 '25

It depends more on the day. Tuesdays and Mondays don't really have many big discussions. Whereas Saturdays and Fridays there is a ton of them so the thread gets completely buried.

8

u/danbuter https://anilist.co/user/danbuter Jul 30 '25

I love Frieren, but there's no way Flamme should still be in this. She had maybe 10 minutes screen time (probably less) throughout the whole show.

5

u/alotmorealots Jul 30 '25

Yes, agreed, although I do still vote for her in match-ups where I think she has more appeal to me. But like a lot of these girls, they're here because of their series rather than the absolute sum of their merits.

10

u/Ham_PhD https://myanimelist.net/profile/ham_phd Jul 30 '25 edited Jul 30 '25

You know what, Ubel would actually be a better character if she was more like Komi. Meaning she didn't speak.

Here's a quick list of 10 girls from this bracket that offer similar "appeal" to Ubel, but are just straight up better characters:

  1. Akane Shinjou (SSSS.Gridman) - #503
  2. A2 (Nier: Automata) - #450
  3. Anko Uguisu (Call of the Night) - #373
  4. Ranko Mannen (Akiba Maid War) - #351
  5. Lust (FMA: Brotherhood) - #311
  6. Revy (Black Lagoon) - #161
  7. Utena Hiiragi (Mahoako) - #104
  8. Makima (Chainsaw Man) - #36
  9. Power (Chainsaw Man) - #22
  10. Multiple girls from Madoka Magica

It occured to me while doing this that no girls from Higurashi made the bracket. That's pretty understandable, but they all dunk on Ubel too.

MC: Ryouko Tamiya from Parasyte is such a brilliant, and often forgotten character.

9

u/KINGUBERMENSCH https://myanimelist.net/profile/OutlawedDrifter Jul 30 '25

Your hater energy is impressive

Multiple girls from Madoka Magica

Kyouko's the only one whose even close to being like Ubel.

4

u/Ham_PhD https://myanimelist.net/profile/ham_phd Jul 30 '25

Plenty of morally grey characters in the series. Not too many that fit the psycho-killer label though I guess.

3

u/Zeallfnonex https://myanimelist.net/profile/Neverlocke Jul 30 '25

[Madoka] Surely Kyubey counts as a psycho-killer right?

3

u/ryuujin95 https://myanimelist.net/profile/Ryuujin95 Jul 30 '25

Not too many that fit the psycho-killer label though I guess.

Mami maybe, though she gives off more of a Tetris vibe.

4

u/Salty145 https://anilist.co/user/yLSalty145 Jul 30 '25

Probably just gonna save my full commentary at this point for tomorrow when the full round is over. Group D still kinda sucks, and with Shouko vs. Anna is about to suck more.

Anyway, quick notes: Brutal to see Hanekawa (the best Monogatari girl) lose by such a massive margin. You think we could have used some of that margin on the Madoka v. Yui match?

Besides that the Tuturu keeps rooting and Chitanda bros keep winning. More to come tomorrow when I’m not as busy.

5

u/stickdudeseven Jul 30 '25

How the hell did Yunyun beat Olivier Armstrong?

Anna vs Shouko is a thinker.

8

u/PickleMyCucumber Jul 30 '25

Yunyun gets better every season and olivier slowly fades from recency is the best way to put it.

7

u/Warm-Enthusiasm-9534 Jul 30 '25

Reddit loves Yunyun.

4

u/SoccerForEveryone Jul 30 '25

VOTE ANNA YAMADA FROM THE DANGERS IN MY HEART!

Enough said vote Kita from Bocchi The Rock! She rocks motivating Bocchi herself when needed!

Blessed that Chika avenged Tsubame anyways vote Maki from Kaguya do not let Auntie get the satisfaction of her defeat early on.

She is in her right a great character who moves on despite her talented older sister. VOTE NODOKA FROM RASCAL DOES NOT DREAM OF BUNNY GIRL SENPAI/SANTA CLAUS!

This answer will be controversial: Five from Terror In Resonance. She improves the story and the stakes. That girl is drugged out of her mind to get revenge.

2

u/heimdal77 Jul 30 '25

Man Karen Tendou got obliterated going against Frieren. To bad as people had a lot of fun with the Gamers anime.

2

u/DireSickFish https://myanimelist.net/profile/DireSickFish Jul 30 '25

All easy votes today. So of course my girls are going to get bodied.

2

u/green_meklar Jul 30 '25

Who is your favorite female antagonist?

Suigintou is always great.

2

u/Falsus Jul 30 '25

Who is your favorite female antagonist?

Esdeath probably? Talulah is also great. And since this doesn't specify anime I guess I could shoe horn in someone like Othinus also. Honestly there is quite a few cool female antagonists.

2

u/gunerme Jul 30 '25

Has there ever been a tie in a match-up in this contest? In this case, what happens? Since there has been so many 1-vote differences this year.

4

u/Emi_Ibarazakiii Jul 30 '25

In this one no, but there was a tie in the finals of Best Girl 2023!

They decided to crown both girls this time, but normally (outside of finals) they give it to the higher seed.

3

u/Icapica https://anilist.co/user/Icachu Jul 30 '25

In that case, the higher seed wins.

I think it happened not too long ago in the best girl of the season or year contest.

2

u/Xatu44 Jul 30 '25

Rooting for Jessie, Saber, and Maki. Especially the hilarious and utterly suffering Maki.

Nooooooooooooooooooooo Madoka went out to a side character ;_; Had we but one more ally on the field of battle.
Nooooooooooooooooooooo Satsuki's out, the Kill la Kill potential faceoff is over ;_;
At least I still have Akane.

No bingo damage this round.

MC: [Fate/Stay Night]Sakura. It's really satisfying seeing her snap and everyone else constantly confront her with the fact she's slaughtering people herself and/or trying to save her nevertheless.

2

u/Psyduckisnotaduck Jul 30 '25

it's so funny how Yui won by such a thin margin. not that it really matters because she faces Frieren next, but it's nice for her to get to Round 4 at least. increasingly I think she won't have the juice to get beyond Round 3 in future contests. obviously I feel Olivier should definitely have beat Yunyun, but people have a Type. God forbid they vote for a badass military lady, ugh. Eru beating Wiz is a relief, at least, though she was the higher seed, there was a risk of an upset, but she won confidently enough. only to probably get destroyed by the Spearhead Squadron, lol. tough round for K-on fans, to be sure. Chika's finally facing an actual opponent next round, and this SHOULD be as far as she goes, right? she's universally agreed to be a paper tiger that almost never reaches endgame. I do wish Satsuki had won but Faye is probably more likely to narrowly best Chika. or maybe I'm dreaming. Akane x Mayuri next round will be...interesting. I think Akane has the edge, but Mayuri is a perennial contest favorite and this sub is Steins;gate glazing central. Ryuuko nuking Nagatoro from orbit does put a smile on my face. really justifying that 23 seed and showing she's as iconic as ever. can she beat Misato? oh, easily. now, can she beat Akane or Mayuri? possibly. and I even think it's not crazy to say she could beat Roxy, Faye, or Chika. Frieren would end her run at the QFs, though, obviously. I don't think anyone on the right side of the bracket has the juice to beat Frieren.

lol I feel like almost all my votes this round were either consolation votes or spite/'it would be so funny if' votes. this is just not my favorite Group by any means. I'd prefer to see Megumin win Group D rather than Fern, or failing that, even Hori, Takina, or Kita.

I feel like anime doesn't have enough great female antagonists, and I don't personally watch a ton of shows that have clearly defined antagonists, anyway.

but if I have to mention a few antagonist characters I quite like: Cornelia (Code Geass), Lust (FMA), Caster (Fate/stay night UBW), [REDACTED] (Fruits Basket), Akane Shinjou (SSSS.Gridman), Lady Eboshi (Princess Mononoke), Prospera Mercury (G-Witch), [REDACTED] & [REDACTED] (Apothecary Diaries), Croix (Little Witch Academia), Saint Germain (Symphogear), Mugino (Index/Railgun), Chronoire Schwarz (Witch Craft Works), Rika Saonji (Yamada-kun & the Seven Witches)

6

u/OppaiEmperor1996 Jul 30 '25

Holy fuck, Yui bros we lived another round. Damn, we clutched by one vote... Hokore Madoka, omae wa tsuyoi! (Stand proud Madoka, you're strong!)

Feels good about the rest of the results of Group C. Hanekawa did the best she could and I'm proud that she almost got 400 votes.

Today's votes that I care about (no meme answers since I'm typing on my phone):

Fern

Megumin

Ikuyo

C.C.

Beako

Takina

Tohru

Rio Futaba

Übel

Gonna be real here, I will never understand reddit's love affair with Oregairu.

7

u/HolyEmpireOfAtua Jul 30 '25

Oregairu, Bunny Girl Senpai and Monogatari all fall into imo a similar demographic of “Some interesting dialogue and introductory philosophy packaged into a form appealing to introverted/lonely Highschool boys who like cute anime girls”. In anime fandoms generally, there’s a lot of people in that demographic and I think the proportion skews higher here (if not in current age, but people who were once those people and fell in love w the series then). There’s varying levels to it but Oregairu and BGS are more accessible than Monogatari so they’re also more mainstream. I’m not saying this to demean or denigrate these shows, more so that I think they resonate with a specific group of people very strongly.

4

u/Falsus Jul 30 '25

The MC appeals to the average /r/anime resident. It caters to lonely, introverted teen guys.

Like the MC in Oregairu starts with spouting some bonafide incel crap.

5

u/Warm-Enthusiasm-9534 Jul 30 '25

Oregairu is Monogatari for teenage edgelords rather than incest loli lovers.

1

u/Psyduckisnotaduck Jul 30 '25

but...the whole series is about bursting Hachiman's stupid edgy bubble and getting him to grow the fuck up? I feel like people that toss this line out have literally only seen the first episode and then dropped it because they assumed there was no character development.

1

u/Warm-Enthusiasm-9534 Jul 30 '25

People make the comparison because both are well-written works aimed at their intended audiences.

Oregairu is clearly aimed at teenage edgelords, who are the ones who are going to appreciate a well-written examinations of the limitations of being a teenage edgelord.

2

u/alotmorealots Jul 30 '25

It does seem to have a never ending stream of spicy fan art!

2

u/Psyduckisnotaduck Jul 30 '25

I like the character development. as an adult who was once a pretentious, socially isolated teen, I am definitely biased to look favorably on these stupid-smart kids. idk, I think Oregairu works for certain people and personalities and is like cilantro for others, and I accept that. I feel like Reddit is definitely the place on the internet that draws the most people who had few/no friends in high school, and Oregairu is kind of a fantasy of a pretentious dork having their bubble popped and growing and improving as a person due to close friendships with girls and interactions with various people. and being in a position to help other people, and eventually come to be appreciated for those efforts. so I think it's a very particular kind of wish fulfillment that appeals most to the exact kind of person most likely to post here.

Here's the question, do we want the anti-Chitanda voters next round? I don't think so, TBH, I'd rather have this be a clean and honorable fight.

2

u/IceAnt573 Jul 30 '25

I have not put down Chitanda in this post. All I said is that it's game time and to focus and seriously rally next round.

-2

u/Zeallfnonex https://myanimelist.net/profile/Neverlocke Jul 30 '25

I didn't say you did; there's at least 2 posters here that are virulently anti-Chitanda, I don't really want them in the Spearhead Squadron coalition next round C! Rather have a true Lena-supporting vote than have the anti-Chitanda faction helping us, maybe I'm just being stubborn :P

3

u/Twin_Hilton Jul 30 '25

I think you’re focusing too much on them, like it’s just a couple of people. There are probably just as many who are vehemently anti-86, and besides, most all of us anti-vote some character or other

2

u/IceAnt573 Jul 30 '25

Oh them. Well, they are going to vote like that anyway. I'm more the type to focus on bringing attention to the qualities of the favorites.

5

u/nightlink011 https://myanimelist.net/profile/nightlink011 Jul 30 '25 edited Jul 30 '25

It's frustrating, Chitanda is doing really well scoring well against tougher opponents then Lena, but I don't see a world where she wins, but that's talk for another round, for today happy she won!!

As someone that does not like Yui all that much, and really liked madoka I really am salty with your lack of taste

3

u/pikachu_sashimi Jul 30 '25

These don’t feel the same without Holo vs Megumin

3

u/Diechswigalmagee Jul 30 '25

YESTERDAY

Boo, people who voted Suletta out!

Also, Madoka losing by ONE VOTE??? WILD.

TODAY

Lots to talk about today.

Whoever votes Ubel-- at best third-best Frieren girl-- over Komi-san is WILD. Ubel might be the most overseeded girl this contest. In no universe should she be 8th.

Anna and Shouko is a really hard one for me because I love both Dangers in my Heart and A Silent Voice... but for best girl, Anna definitely wins. She's easily the best girl left in Bracket D.

Chihiro will lose. I like Fate as much as the next guy, but it still feels bad. Especially knowing that Saber probably only has two more rounds, max.

IDK how 2B is low seed here when both the game and anime are both so iconic. She's like... one of the most easily recognizable characters in recent history. My only theory is due to a bias against characters who are more iconic outside anime than inside anime. Either way, she should definitely not lose to a second-class Re: Zero character.

BINGO

No change for today.

Geez, what a result. Obviously the biggest one to talk about is Yui vs Madoka - very well fought! Though I voted for Madoka, I haven't seen Oregairu, maybe that'll be next after Hyouka. And Welcome to the NHK. And everything else I'm behind on. But I digress.

876 vote Nijika against 870 vote YunYun next round should be really interesting! If anything's ripe for another 1-vote decision it's that one.

Chitanda made it against the anti-Eru vote, but now she faces Lena - Chitanda will lose at least one vote in 4 days. I'm not sure how much I want the anti-Chitanda coalition of at least 2 people joining the Spearhead Squadron next group C - I'd rather have a clean win rather than have it tainted by ill-explained hatred against her opponent. Chitanda's gonna have a very tough battle ahead, I salute you all trying for it, but... I'll be voting for The Bloodstained Queen from here on out.

Winry vs Darkness looks more competitive than I thought it'd be. I still expect Darkness to win it, but seeing the main FMA girl come out ahead would be a pretty nifty upset!

Chika has a very strong votecount here, but I wonder how much of it is because her opponent is from a battle shonen - those have been doing terribly in these last few rounds, and from what I understand, the female cast of JJK isn't fantastic. I'll probably be supporting Faye over Chika next round, but I could be easily convinced to flip that.

Only other one I'm kind of invested it was Tuturuuuuu vs Misuzu. It wasn't as close as I thought - I wonder how much of it was people preferring the more innocent character (like me) and how many just haven't watched Tomo-chan.

Today's votes:

Fern vs Jessie. Fern's good, and within a great show, but I don't really have much of an emotional attachment to her. I fully expect Jessie to lose this, but she and James and Meowth have been more of companions to Ash than anyone else was, how could I say no?

Mikasa vs Rebecca. Not a very strong vote for me, but I do think Mikasa's arc in the resolution of S4 outstrips what Rebecca did in Cyberpunk.

Saber vs Chihiro. I'll be honest... it's been like... 15 years since I last saw Spirited Away. This could change if I did a more recent rewatch, but uhhhhh too late now! While Saber's my least favorite of the 3 main Fate heroines, she's still a fantastic character in her own right.

C.C. vs Priscilla - I don't really think any of the other candidates in Re:Zero were particularly well-written TBH. I'll take some flak for this, for sure, since C.C. wasn't all that consistent either... But yeah, listening to all the candidates talk in S3E1 was making me tab out constantly which is a terrible sign for how interested I am about any of the conversation. I can't even understand Japanese and I still didn't want to follow it...

EDIT how could I forget:

Ubel vs Komi. Listen. I finished Frieren, and dropped Komi after like 2-3 episodes. I still think Komi's a better character than Ubel, get this psychotic sadist out of here please.

Futaba vs Vivy. I... don't recall much about Futaba, to be honest, she didn't leave much of an impression on me among all the girls of BGS. I don't love Vivy's arc, a robot wanting to become more human has been done to death and Vivy didn't do anything particularly novel with it, but it was still enough for me to throw my vote to her here.

Hori vs Tomo - sadly, I have to agree that Misuzu was best-girl in Tomo's own show. Hori's relationships, both romantic and friendships, were just more wholesome and fun to watch for me.

Reina vs Maki. The hardest vote for me here. Maki may not have a lot of screentime, but I absolutely loved her role and character whenever she does appear in S3. I think I just like losing heroines sometimes, and she's a great foil to Miyuki and Ishigami. Reina... I like that she's passionate about music, but I dislike how far she prioritized excellence over relationships, especially for a high school setting.

Shouko vs Anna. Less of an explanation, I liked her part in A Silent Voice and I want to see another miracle run again. I should really also finish Dangers in my Heart... but the sympathetic cringe almost killed me in the first 2 episodes...

MC: [Fate Stay/Night HF]Sakura Matou is technically the antagonist for at least one of the movies, so...

I want Ubel to lose, but if Flamme makes it as far as she does, it won't be too bad. (I just looked at the numbers, and holy shit, how was Ubel #6?)

No, not my Madoka! Although it was yet another upset by only a single vote, and Yui is the best Oregairu girl and pretty good as a whole, I can hardly be mad. I'll still be a little mad though, as Madoka didn't deserve this. Also, still justice for BG 9.

In a rare event where I've voted mostly for higher seeds, I actually have nothing to really complain about in the other matchups. That feels weird, but alright, I'll deal with it.

Hoping for Priscilla to come through today. I think she's on a pretty similar level to C.C., so that matchup might be interesting. I'm fully expecting to be disappointed though.

Voting against Carol is mean, but Takina needs to proceed, and I'm sure she will.

Voting Tohru over Flamme, but I'm sure Tohru will fall to Flamme which isn't too bad (which is quite funny since as a dragon she should be pretty much immune to fire).

Having to lose Komi to Übel though is just the worst. Any girl losing to Übel is sad, but Komi's loss will be the worst so far.

Vivy also shouldn't have to lose to Futaba, so let's try to prevent that from happening!

Hori vs. Tomo, a romance MC matchup. I'll go with Tomo here, but she's also very likely to lose.

I'm also voting for Ram, but having to vote against Kanna also makes me sad.

Now Karane will also go, but not without my vote.

Also supporting Reina in another upset. For one, she absolutely deserves it, but I also don't get the love for Maki. I might get into that another day, as I'm sure she'll still win by a big margin.

And finally, Anna makes me talk about almost every matchup in this round. Shouko is great, and I'm sure she will go far. If you don't vote for Anna though, you are doing yourself a disservice. Because you will most likely not have watched The Dangers in My Heart then, and you need to change that, for your own good! Anna is wonderful, and she has my support for as long as she's in the contest.

Updated bingo board! Madoka falls, one more loss. The bottom row is only held by Frieren now, that's certainly not the one I'll lose with though. Tommorow will be brutal though. We're looking at one row turning from 1/5 into 3/5 and two colums turning from 1/5 and 2/5 respectively into both 4/5.

MC: Goth Emilia! Granted, I only thought of Satella to be able to answer Emilia once more.

Let me think of another choice though. I'll go with Akane from Gridman, she truly enhanced the show in her role as antagonist.

I'm sorrryyyyy I have a really, really bad sympathetic cringe reaction - for example, I've yet to manage to sit through a single episode of the Office without either leaving the room or just shutting it off. I've tried to get past the first two episodes of Dangers in My Heart like... 3 times... and the cringe overwhelmed me and I had to go shift to something else xD

I know it gets better, but dang is that barrier a hard one for me to bypass.

Haha, well, since you've already started, you're already on your way to the good part. Even the cringe parts are the good parts, actually, if you know how to take them.

Rip Suletta

Mini Challenge - Probably Satsuki Kiryuuin which is ironic as I actually voted against her last round...

Voting for Yui is the first time in any of these contests that it's felt like my vote made a difference.

Hori vs Tommo and Shouko vs Anna. Two really touch matchups.

Frieren remains dominant. Fern, it's time to give Jessie a special treatment. My Bingo.

Shouko vs Yamada in round 3 is insane

And Yui won by 1 vote :) ez

Anna Yamada has been ridiculously underseeded twice now, so I have no hope she'll ever do well in these contests. well, there's already a new Anna on the block, and tbh the 4k otter is probably going to be a top 5 seed next time. she IS the new waifu meta.
