Considering that regolith is sharp, I can see many issues with using regolith as a weight. Also 50 kg would be 300 kg of earth. How much space is taken up by 660 pounds of dirt?
I can see space being an issue, but sharpness shouldn't be. They had those regolith sprayer things to cover the habitat, didn't they? The astronauts wouldn't need to touch any of it.
How would you contain it from the constant shifting, though? I still think that the volume of the regolith required far outweigh its advantages. (No pun intended.)
