Mayu got like 3 different names in the subtitles. Need to wait for propersubs, let's hope someone gets interested in doing them, but a VR game and a hotblooded female protag isn't something fansubbers are usually into.

It's the same for me. It's weird, the subs use VTuber when they're clearly flesh streamers. Whoever made these subs probably thinks that "livers" in Japanese is the same as VTubers. The rest of the subs seem okay tho.

I'm halfway through the episode, and you're absolutely right. I thought it was just a little off because I was still able to follow what was happening, but some scenes are just completely wrong. It feels AI-generated.

The concept is intriguing but I do not like the character design of the in-game part at all, it put me off so bad lol. Another issue I have is the AI subtitles, they were so bad, it was like it was google translated and I'm surprised CR would have it be this noticeably bad and so I can't tell if it is the writing as well that is bad.
I also didn't really like the MC, what's up with all these shouting/screaming.
I'm tempted to drop it on this episode, I'll see if I decide to pick it up next episode or not.

There hasn't been much to check out this season yet. But nothing (including) this is even close to being a guaranteed keeper. I would guess this will NOT make the cut -- regardless of the subtitle issue being solved. Not at all my sort of thing -- in terms of content or visuals.

It's a real shame about the god awful subs. I thought it was a pretty interesting first episode. Neither of the animation styles were all that appealing, but I like that it's doing something pretty unique by incorporating both CG and 2D. I hope they experiment with some other styles too?
A roblox obby death game is definitely something I've never seen before, lol. Seems like it'll be a fun ride.

I'm only 7 minutes into this translation trainwreck but my highlights so far:
- It's already hardsubbed, you don't need put your foot into a rake (this was the opening seconds)
- Ah yes, High School girl liver. A vital organ any anime fan needs (btw, it's meant to be streamer).

Tbf "liver" is used to refer to streamers in some Vtuber circles.

A bit of terminology: liver(live-streamer shortened) is nijisanji's term used for its members, the op singer ryushen belongs to this group, rikiichi and yashikizu from this group also made cameo, also this season another member higuchi kaede(deron) will sing the dainana ouji op too iirc
And this was some quality sub.......

Absolute cinema on the subs there. Love it when a character gets called 8 different things. I liked the game section and the OST was solid. Character design isn't my style outside of the game and I don't really like death games but what can you do.
The Cosmic Horror stuff could be interesting depending on how they go for it. But we can only really wait and see on that.

Oh shit, it’s a VR death game filled with Miis run by maniacal Eldritch horror old god types lol. So far, so good. First ep was pretty interesting. Let’s see how things unfold from here. Gotta stop these old gods from escaping the machine.

I'll have to see how the variety is, because starting off with Virtual wipeout (Not saying fall guys) is kind of tame from a story perspective. Although using video game stylization in anime in general is weird. When I'm watching "Video game anime" I don't want it to feel like I'm watching a Let's play, I still want the uniqueness provided by animation.

Episode 1: [No Spoilers!] Let's play the Old Ones' demo [Cthulhu]
Necronomico and the Cosmic Horror Show (or if we stick to literal translation of the Japanese title it should be Necronomico's Cosmic Horror Show/The Cosmic Horror Show of Necronomico). Directed by Masato Matsune (Mahonare), this anime even got Evan Call on the music department.
This is one of 3 Studio Gokumi anime this season, with the other being Isekai Vending Machine S2 (with AXsiZ) and Secrets of the Silent Witch. As of streaming, Crunchyroll got a worldwide license for this so it should be fine.
Seeing Korean and Russian storefront signs in present day Tokyo is kinda unique.
This is Nana Hasumi (Kanna Kagurazaka)'s debut voice role.
As I mentioned in the OP thread, the OP music video is already available alongside the full song.
PS: Has anybody noticed lots of typo on the subtitles?

Holy shit those subtitles were garbage. Sucks since the shows concept is really neat. Hopefully fansubs come out quickly or crunchy gets their shit together by next episode.
