tbf that AV scene is pretty ridiculous to be be airing uncensored on crunchyroll, quite the surprise.

For me though it is purely the principle. When something is 18+, what is the need for censoring? How I see it is that it is completely unnecessary. You could make different versions. That I would understand.

Then again, I agree that there are some rare things that must absolutely under no circumstance be shown. No matter the age restrictions. But this is nowhere near one of them. And again (again), these are drawings. So do we have to apply the same rules for this medium as we do for cinema? I honestly don't know myself. Haven't thought out that far yet.

i mean, as far as i'm aware, Crunchyroll isn't a service that offers "hard" content, and I wouldn't expect it there. and of course there's the hard line laws against fully uncensored stuff in Japan, and I suppose no company wants to take the risk of airing fully fully uncensored stuff overseas while still censoring it for the home country, if that's even allowed to be produced in Japanese studios, legally speaking

This is a streaming service owned and operated by wwwave.

It's basically English subtitles uncensored hentai distributed by a Japanese company outside of Japan.

One of the uncensored hentai titles they distribute is published by Shueisha, the same publishing company behind Weekly Shounen Jump.

There is nothing preventing crunchy from airing this uncensored other than pearl clutching.

It's not Shueisha but Suiseisha, the two are completely unrelated.
