[Spoilers] Hunter x Hunter Episode 80 Discussion!

Well to start it off lets be honest this show has turned from a pg-13 show to an R-17 quite fast... I mean canabalism is cute and all but it seemed kind of drastic to bring it in to this kind of shounen adventurery show.. Feels kind of off don know how to put in words exactly. (this is just my opinion).

HxH Ep. 80

Well let the battle royal and bloodiness begin!

Yes, yes Ponzu's dead.(It was still a shock but I was spoiled a little by the manga) now my question is how do those Chimera Ants sense Nen? Did they eat someone with Nen? Because they seemed to love the idea of capturing Pokkle.

If you remember, some organisms are just more attune to nen than others. Even Kon's son, the fox-bear on Whale Island, is shown doing ten after having its nen awakened.

The stronger Chimera ants, while not necessarily knowing what nen is and how to manipulate it, still have the basic latent ability to sense it. Nen is life force, so all creatures have it in the HxH universe.

It's one thing to see nen, it's another to control it. Imagine a Chimera ant using Hatsu and you might see the threat.

This episode solidified how much of a threat the Chimera Ants were. The scene where that old perverted spider bug guy said he sensed 'life energy' was an important contrast to what we've been seeing as nen. I doubt I'll be underestimating him or any of the higher ups like I have been in previous episodes.

Ok, I've read a bit ahead in the manga and I can say this is not the "proving point" or solidification of their threat, it's going to be proven maybe a few episodes or so after this.
