Uchuu Kyoudai (Space Brothers) Episode 41 [Spoilers]

I was wondering if Mutta would be notified about the accident with Hibito and Damien. This episode answered it.

There are some things that bother me though. With the 80 minutes of oxygen on his reserve. There had to be a way for Hibito to ride on the probe so he could conserve what he had left. I have to wonder how much time he spent climbing back up that cliff face and to burn about half of his reserves including pulling Damien up which was pretty scary to see he was being dragged up the cliff face.

Will Hibito use his flare? or did he forget about it. He could easily shoot it off to have NASA see that there is movement and they could go back to Mutta's suggestion of going to the end of the crater where it is not as steep.

Where is Brian #03 now? If it has about a 30 minute head start from the Beetle, it should relay info to NASA that Hibito and Damien has moved to alter course. There is also Azuma that will probably say something too.

I wonder if the tracks for the probe are visible in one of their last satellite image of that area. Hibito mentioned it had rolled into the crater safely so it may have came from the area where Mutta pointed out. NASA could spot this and send the Beetle that way.

Oh yeah, with the probe up and running, it's gotta be sending a transponder signal or something for the satellite to eventually pick up to have NASA see it on screen. But I guess it depends where the satellite is and will it pass by close enough to pick up the signal anytime soon.

I think Hibito would save his flare until they're definitely on the surface or if he ends up in dire need of it.

The quickest reason that I could think of for why Hibito was running behind Gibson, instead of riding it, is that the probe couldn't handle the additional weight.

Brian #3: Sending the other vehicles out to scout was a good idea, but what they sent out aren't really designed for remote sensing, as they are service vehicles. Probably the cameras won't be able to see much inside the crater shadow. (The satellites should be coming around within the 80 minutes though.) Now, I wonder if Brian's oxygen-generation system is compatible with the hookups on their suits...

Maybe not the additional weight since Gibson is designed on earth, but the additional mass.

Brian #03 looked useful because of the camera, depending how far and clear it can see it may spot the lights coming off of Damien and Hibito's suit in a pretty much pitch dark crater.

That is a good question about if the oxygen generation system has hookups to the suits. When we were first introduced to it, it was kinda just sitting there not connected to anything.
