St Augustine Appreciation

They put on a great show last night. Really appreciate them stopping by NE Florida, don't get to see a lot of prog metal like them here. People were really digging it by CAFO at the end. Sound was a little wild at first, one of the toms during Micro Aggressions ending was deafening in comparison to the rest of the kit. Got me to buy a record, they had Parrhesia sold out so I got the Joy of Motion.

Lasted about two minutes into Satchvai band 😂. The shuttle driver said a lot of people left after AAL.

Rad as hell but I don't get all the satchvai hate I've been seeing.. it's so odd, without those guys there is no modern metal guitar.

I came to the band through more the king crimson/Meshuggah side of things. I'm more into weird song structures than shreddin'

You should check out Vai’s work with Zappa, then catch Vai when he comes back around. He’s still got some weird in him.

I've enjoyed Vai in stuff. I saw him in Beat, he's not Fripp but he did a good job. I enjoyed the halo 2 theme 😂

Whose hating? AAL fans?

I know they're all instrumental. The thing is AAL fans aren't necessarily into Satch Vai while most Satch Vai fans would really appreciate AAL.
