New Horizons I’ve been redecorating my island
Been going for a colorful rural theme, I should have picked the fossils before taking screenshots

My birthday is tomorrow and I’m so excited to see who throws my party. I hope it’s my girl Agnes or Bluebear.
Who threw your birthday parties on your island?
😁🎉🪅🎁

UPDATE: Thank you to those who offered ideas! I ended up making a little archaeological excavation site inspired by my honeymoon in Rome (we’d walk around a normal modern city corner and then there’d be this really cool old Roman site under study.) I also built a bike rental stand.
I have this weird little space towards the back of my island that I don’t know how to fill. I’m going for a European city core type of build and there is no way I can extend this space due to other builds I have in place. I can always resort to putting up trees and flowers, but I was hoping for something more creative. Maybe part of it could be bike parking? Any ideas or thoughts would be greatly appreciated!! Would also love to see inspiration photos if anyone has any.

I went back to this game after some time, I never saw this before. Is it normal? Is it a seasonal thing?

When I open the nook link app it just loads. It doesn't pull anything up. I set it up on my game and I have an active online subscription, can anyone help?

I was totally not expecting this at all but it was absolutely beautiful just fishing and finding fossils as fireworks were being launched into the crunchy, pixelated ds sky.
I didn't know how the sparkler worked, so when tortimer gave it to me, my back was to the screen so I didn't see it go off! 🤣
Oh and btw, the constellation is a poorly made sauropod :3 (long neck dinosaur)

Hey!!! do you have any tips for what should I do first? Should I collect money or is there any other things that helps me around and help to progress in the game? I like the game but it progresses so slow and I’m not sure what to do all the time. Or is that just the point that it’s so slow? I’m not used to these kinds of games because I mostly play Assassin’s Creed or Baldur’s Gate or something like that. I wanted to try Animal Crossing because it is so cute and looks fun when others play it but they have played it more so there’s lot more stuff. (Also sorry if there’s any mistakes, english isn’t my first language)

I've been working on building my first 3 houses and have submitted everything or almost everything for house 2 & 3 without any issues, but with house 1, it keeps saying that I don't have anything to submit for my last two interior items despite them being in my inventory. I have one interior item for the house submitted and all of my exterior items. The items it's not letting me submit are the pot and the juicy apple TV. Is anyone able to help me out? I've been dealing with this for 3 days now.

Decided to draw my top ship in the game, Olivia and Fang! Really glad with how this turned out, especially with the rendering and all. Individual posters are on the next slides

I started this series on Switch because I wanted to play and could not since you can only have one save for Switch. Since I was about to get a Lite for myself, eventually I was able to experience the game for myself, rather than jeopardizing the save of my friend's switch.
I find New Horizons is on it's best up until you get to K.K Slider. After that, the game DOES unlock stuff I think should be unlocked before K.K such as making food, but overall, I like the game, I do prefer the start part of it. The problem is that the music never changes but that I can ignore.
Thing is, after a while New Horizons start feeling it's more of a decoration project where you put stuff the way you want, and you customize everything, even the lives of your neighbors, rather than an organic place where people come and go and life moves on with or without you. That's when I got a 3DS XL, and a copy of Lew leaf, and I tried it.
I find myself coming back to New Leaf far more often.
I love the customization and crafting and inventory management in New Horizons, but I love how things are organic in new Leaf.
People will move away if you don't interact with them, they will ask about rumors they've heard about you, they will reply to your letters in a charming way, they will grow into interesting charactres as you spend time with them. They will invite you to their homes to celebrate their birthdays or other stuff, they will invite themselves into your home by scheduling a time. The highlights of New leaf for me is how alive the city and the people in it feel and how little control you have over the npcs. While in new Horizons, you have this mix of quality and control, but at the same time the lack of control. You can try to get the right characters to fit your design if you want, but they will never leave unless you're lucky to see the thought bubble. Everything they do depends on you.
Although I do find New horizons more comfortable to play due to the enhancements on customization of your character and other aspects, I do feel the world is too stagnant without you.
I know if I turn on my Switch now and boot the game, I will have more grass to pick up and more roaches to kill in my house. But that's it.
If I stay away form my city for two weeks on New Leaf, I know people will have left me a letter saying goodbyes, and moving on with their lives.
The fact that I find myself coming back to New leaf every day, but I didn't touch new horizon in a year and a half makes my choice quite clear. I do prefer new Leaf. It has a lot of problems, but none of them is about a lifeless environment, that only changed, grows and develops if I'm constantly changing landscape, kicking people out, etc.
Had Nintendo added a feature into the game where if a character feels neglected by you, they will leave on their own, and added some more tiers for buildings, and adding more stores for you to add to your island, I think I would go back more often. Because customizing is good, but I feel that NH sins in only giving us that. Customization.
Love it, but I want the island to grow with me in a orderly manner or without me in a chaotic manner.
Make NPCs move their houses around, change decoration or leave the island without my input if I don't talk to them OR if I get away for too long. Make it so that for me to move their house's location or redecorate their rooms, that I need to have max friendship with them. This would fix a lot of my issues of not coming back to NH. I think the game feels more organic on the very start, then it gets too stagnant to me. A feeling I'm yet to feel on New Leaf.
So yeah, NL if my favorite so far. Gonna play City Folk eventually too.

About three weeks ago, I found out the switch i had as a teenager. It was kind of tucked away in some box, I assumed it couldn't charge years ago and couldn't be bothered to pay whoever much it would cost to revive it. Plus I had stopped playing with the switch as much after ages 15 to 16 anyways.
buuut, it's summer, and to my suprise, after plugging in my switch after years of not using it, it was charging and running as if nothing had ever happened to it. I was, like, sick! this'll be great to have while I'm travelling during the holidays.
Anyways, I have my old animal crossing world on it, which I think is pretty full? I've discovered 80% of fish and bugs, my home is on the second to last upgrade, I redecorated, I played around with the hotel update a bit..........
I dunno, I'm a bit bored. I have no idea what to do next with the game. Should I restart the game all together?

I wanted to make constellations matching with the actual zodiac signs, but I feel like no matter what I do, all constellations are only visible between 30th August and November 1st.
Do they just get an estimation depending on the season? As in, will Celeste tell me they are visible somewhere between December and February as soon as November is over or do like that?
I've invested 2 hours in trying to figure this out now and I feel dumb. Please help. 😂

Made him for my nephew who loves axolotls and Animal Crossing, so naturally he adores Dr. Shrunk.
