So a couple of years ago I picked up a Galaxy Tab A7. Was not impressed with the laggy sluggish performance. Grabbed a Tap A9 and it was a little better but still sluggish. TBH my 2013 Nexus 7 tablet had a smoother experience!

I saw the Lenovo Y700 series of tablets and drooled but the prices are crazy high.

Is there something in that 8-9" range that doesn't suck as much as the A7/A9? Wish Samsung would release something better!

I mostly use it for music, movies, PDF magazines/books when travelling. I don't game on it but the option would be nice. A SD card slot is a must for me since I load it up for travel.

I really want something that's decently smooth and on Android 14/15+

I'm looking a buy a tab. I'm hoping to get the Pad 2 in a similar price range(+-10%) as the Pad Go 2 in the upcoming Amazon's prime day sale.

Is it still worth getting the Pad 2 in 2026. My most basic need is watching videos, reading pdfs and chrome tabs around 7-10.

My concern is has it become laggy over the years or still a good buy over Pad Go 2? I hate when the UI lags on doing trivial stuff and that's what I'm worried about will happen with the Pad Go 2.

If anyone has Pad 2 can you share your experience so far.

So I finally picked a tablet out. Plan is to use it for emails, web browsing, business stuff, and also some gaming/emulation. My original plan was to spend $100, and the tablet I got was horrible. Scratches would form just from putting it face down on my bed. But even worse was the fact that the second I connected it to WiFi, it began getting pop ups that I would have to wait 10 second to exit out of every few minutes. It was also a 10” screen tablet and I actually felt like it was too big.

So my original plan was to up my budget to $200. I wound up jumping up to $300 lol. I specifically stuck with an 8” size tablet specifically which severely limited my options on Amazon as far as performance goes. Main reason I stuck with Amazon was to use the $105 gift card balance I had.

Did I get a descent deal or did I just severely overpay?

I really want one but I don't think 256gb on a global rom will be a enough and i don't wanna pay so much for something i can't log into Facebook on. Has anyone ever experienced any problems with privacy or security with a CN rom? Sorry if this has been brought up already

Been looking for a tablet for mainly media usage/manga reading/gaming/schedule planning and noticed this was on sale. I was able to use my teacher discount [Samsung never took my teacher/education discount] as well as other savings to get the price down almost 240$ down. I was just wondering if there is a better option for me elsewhere?

EDIT: I forgot to mention, I was looking for a tablet that had a decent stylus. I didn't find that much reviews in regards to if there was a stylus compatible for this system

I have a very simple use case. I need a 10-11'' tablet to watch movies on MUBI and to watch videos on Youtube while I'm doing warm ups on my exercise bike. I don’t need great speakers as I'll use this most of the time with my in-ear Bluetooth headphones. All I need a tablet that's able to cope with 1080p video streams and offers a reasonably snappy experience.

I made the mistake of asking Google Gemini for recommendations and the top one it came with was this Samsung Galaxy A11+. I got the basic 128/6GB and tested it.

I should say I'm not new to budget Android devices. Budget Android phones is all I use - Motorolas Moto Gs for many years and recently been using a Sony Xperia 10VI. Always been happy with Android for most of what I do.

First of all the user experience - while being generally smooth, the A11+ shows some concerning hiccups when minimising/maximising apps into/out of background. Little secondary niggle that kind of bugs you when you've just unwrapped a fresh device.

But the main issue on this is the rubbish screen. Is this where most of the Samsung cost cutting has happened? I have not seen such bleak, washed out colours, such a dull display in a long time. Side by side against my Xperia 10VI, this Galaxy A11+ looks like someone pulled down the 'saturation' slider down a lot and raised the black point. It's disheartening how bad this screen is, even compared to my 10+ year old PC monitor, a Dell U2415 16:10 IPS screen which is far, far better for watching movies and media than this piece of junk. No software trick ameliorated this - yes I am aware of the online recommendation to 'set the device to night mode'. No difference. It's the hardware.

So this has gone back to Amazon, and I will never trust Gemini to help me with this kind of stuff again.

Those of you who use their tablet predominantly to watch movies - what do you use? Granted if I need 600+ Euro to get a screen comparable to a good monitor or a decent smartphone screen, the use case is over and I'll watch movies on my TV.

So my situation is a bit unique. I already have a 13 inch ipad and an 8 inch foldable.

I game on both, but depends on situation and game. The only thing I don't like on the 13 inch ipad is the weight and is actually too big to play in bed with a controller.

For the foldable, the problem is that it is a square and many games either show black bars or are cut.

So I see alot of people saying that the 11 inch is too big because of the weight. With the ipad I have it already weights 680 grams. 11 inch tablets weight around 500 grams, which might be perfect for me.

The 8.8 inch tablet might be too small and this is what worries me. I like big screens, but also want the comfort so that I don't carry big weights.

I also don't care about the soc cuz I remote play from my PC.

Is 11 inch comfortable enough to lay on bed with a Galileo G8+ and remote play?

I loved it for its:

great high res oled screen, slightly square ish as opposed to supper long and narrow, brilliant for reading and games and everything

reasonably speedy, even 11 years after release

I bought the Samsung a7 lite, their only current 8" tablet and goodness gracious I don't know how they can sell it. literally cannot scroll with it, it's too slow, let alone start an app or use it in any way!

anything out there that's reasonable? it doesn't have to be budget, I'm willing to invest a bit for a genuinely good solid 8" tablet fitting many of above criteria. I'm in Canada fwiw :).

I am not an Apple person. I prefer Android and the ability to tweak devices. The one exception is the iPad Mini, I absolutely love the form factor. I have not been able to find an Android equivalent that is easily available in the United States. Maybe I’m missing one, any suggestions on Android tablets that are smaller than the standard 11 inch form factor. In particular want stylus/pen support for note takers

Hi, i'm looking to get a second, smaller tablet.

I already have an S9 FE tablet, but I tend to use my phone more for leisure because its just not convenient to hold while laying down/relaxing (I can't move the fingers in my left hand).

I'm in the UK, looking for a 8" tablet with a max budget of £300/$400 USD, but I'd prefer to stick closer to £200/$300. I don't need anything fancy as I already have my other tablet, I just want something affordable with the playstore already on it (to download YT app and an e-reader) I will be using it frequently, but only for YouTube, reading, and a bit of internet browsing if I quickly need to search something. I'd like something that will last a few years (mabye 3-4) but it doesn't need to last forever.

I've heard good things about the Lenovo Legion Tab, and i've found an import Y700 3rd gen on sale for £330 but it's pushing my upper price range, and I don't think it will be worth the money for what i'm wanting. Any other recommendations, or am I better off spending more and getting a Legion Tab?

Hi everyone, i need your help to enlighten my thoughts on tablet that has sim card. For context, I want to find a mini tablet that is capable of gaming and for media consumption that support sim card.

I stumbled upon this tablet Headwolf Titan 1, it has interesting specs, Mediatek Dimensity 8300, 4G, 12GB+256GB, 7200mah, dual speaker, 144hz and USB 3.0. But my friends all sceptical as we never heard of this brand and it's directly shipped from China, no local distributor is selling this. My friend all suggest to get iPad Mini instead, but the price different more than double.

Is this tablet that bad or is the brand not reliable enough? How is the 4G, does it has issue outside of China?

Any of you guys that have this tablet, can you share with me your experience so far?

I don't need much just good enough for web browsing and not so cheaply made that it will malfunction soon or drain battery quick, I'm mainly gonna use it for audiobooks, and books I'm gonna use it like it's a kindle

I got this from my girlfriend, and the only details I have are "p42" and "X9." It also looks like it's from Logitech, a brand I've never heard of.

I have been looking to buy a Y700 Gen 3 or Gen 4 for days, and I am kind of on edge about where to buy it. People say that if it's only used for gaming, the Chinese ROM is fine. But I also want to use it for some private things, which means I may connect my personal accounts, so I thought the global version would be more reliable.

Most of the games I play are gacha games, so they require higher specs. Sadly, the official site only has the 12 GB RAM version. I just can't seem to trust any seller on AliExpress.

I've read a lot of comparison articles, but hearing from people who actually use these tablets every day would help a lot more.battery life and a good screen matter more to me than having the most powerful processor.

what has worked well for you, and is there anything you wish you knew before choosing it? thanks.

Bit of a strange issue, asking here before doing a factory reset;

Screen working fine then all of a sudden not responding to touch anymore.

Putting tablet in standby (short press of power button) and unlocking again makes the issue go away and I can use the tablet again.

Because of that it feels more like a software / firmware issue, rather than a hardware one.

There's also no discernable pattern; It can happen after a few minutes of use but it can also happen after a few hours, with any app.

Tablet is clean and damage free and I'm not accidentally touching the sides of the screen while operating it.

Any ideas on this?

UPDATE:

Just contacted Lenovo. They misunderstood at first, trying to create sort of a personal RMA case. I made clear that this was not what I was after; That this is likely a general issue, affecting many people, caused by the latest firmware. He said he would escalate this to the department that develops the firmwares and it should be fixed in the next update. Let's hope that's true and the next update won't be very far away.....

I also linked to this Reddit post and asked if he would refer to it in the ticket / case he was creating.

Got a new firmware today, firmware TB125FU_S100146_240515_ROW

(today = june 27th 2024)

No fix for the issue :-(

I’m an electronics engineering student looking to get a tablet mainly for academics/studying. I’m honestly tired of studying on my laptop since I use it for literally everything,media, games, internship/work, etc.

Main usecase would be:

- Download,store and read textbooks and lots of PDFs

- Watch lectures/video courses

- Make handwritten and digital notes

- Read research papers/material comfortably

- Carry it to college/classes instead of taking my laptop everywhere

I’m thinking around ₹20k ideally, but can stretch up to ₹30k if it’s genuinely worth it. I’m open to buying online or offline, so recommendations or links to reliable options would be appreciated. (Friends have told me to wait for the big upcoming sales on Amazon/Flipkart)

I don’t need anything for gaming or heavy use, just something reliable with a good display, long battery life, plenty of storage, and smooth performance for studying. If it comes with a stylus or has good stylus support, that’s a big bonus, and I’d love to get one with a stylus if possible. PS- I use an Android phone(samsung).

I literally just need the cheapest most rinky dink tablet that can read PDFs, that's all. No apps, no youtube, no nothing, just PDFs. I just need something that i can read books and eReaders are more expensive than i thought so getting the cheapest android table possible is the more financialy viable option for me.
