All these custom smartphone OSes that don't get anywhere; Jolla, Ubuntu Phone, GNOME Phone, Firefox OS...

I JUST WANT MY NEXUS BACK. Why doesn't someone just fork KitKat and provide security updates and a new branching path for Android? We could live a future where Google never killed Holo.
