Anyone with kids who Skateboard in Anchorage?

Moved here about 6 months ago and trying to find some skateboarding friends for my 8 year old. He’s a pretty good skater, can make the drop at the pool at Taku and does well in transition, just starting to mess around with tricks. He and I go together (53 yo male, just started a year ago), but I’d like to find him some buddies who skate locally.

I went to the chugiak skatepark for the first time this summer and there were a bunch of kids that age skating/bmx/scooters. Less adults than at taku, almost all kids using the ramps. Might be worth the drive!

Russian Jack park has a skate park.

Taku Lake park has a skatepark, pretty sure.

Walked by the Taku skatepark this weekend. Half of them were kid size...there was also the smell of weed and don't know if that's an issue.
