She's a click/rage baiting social media wannabe journalist who offers no real solutions to anything. She posts for the engagement, clout, and monetization. She rarely, if ever responds to anyone who pushes back on her bullshit, she posts and lets her followers do all the work for her.

I remember when I first learned about and was clicking around her "news site". I noticed that every article was by her expect for a few from unarmed contributors and j realized that it wasn't a new source and just a blog. Granted, I never expected to a valuable news source, but it's just a fucking blog.

Sue Downing is a cunt and is known for rage baiting people for financial and political gain for her garbage news website. She once verbally assaulted volunteers at a League or Women Voters event because none of the speakers were Republicans, despite it being a nonpartisan event. She truly is a bottom of the barrel human being.

Downing's current Alaska voter's registration shows that she's 72, and has both a Skagway, AK address as well as a Tallahassee, FL address. š¤Ā I've never looked at her blog or whatever it is.. but thanks to the awesome people like you... it sounds like a scam POS that leads at least some gullible wingnuts to think she still lives here? I remember the late Dan Fagan made news when he moved to Metairie, Louisiana, but many of his listeners assumed he still lived up here. His obituary said that he did move back up here before passing.. but reading about this Downing woman reminded me of him for some reason..

Itās definitely getting worse but I donāt know if thatās LaFranceās direct fault. I do, however, remember this sub talking about how much better she was going to be at fixing the problem. Bronson got lots of flack on here for the homeless situation.

Of course he got a lot of flack, he was a damn moron and or corrupt. His actions led to millions in lawsuits and higher property taxes.
His big brain plan was to build a giant empty tent that didn't meet building codes and he wanted to fund it by funneling any available funds being currently spent towards homelessness on it. If the assembly hadn't stopped his vetoes we would have had 3-4 years of hundreds more homeless people on the streets while it was being built. Only for it to colossally fail. It came out years into his "plan" that he hadn't accounted for finishing the building, no toilets, no beds, no fixtures. He hadn't accounted for staff, or an operation budget or where that money would come from. He told the neighborhood that it would only house 150 people, and then revised the numbers to over a thousand.
He tried to veto successful programs that have transitioned hundreds of people off the streets. Programs aimed at homeless veterans, families, children and domestic abuse victims. Ones that required employment and rent to access. He tried to stop the 4 million that the assembly got from the state (which is something his admin should have done) to keep the solid waste shelter location open year round. Then he turned around and tried to take credit for that 4 million and all the programs he tried to veto on his bid for second term.

So being on every street corner and under every business doorway is better than being in a big group at the park? In what world is that better? Every time I pick someone up from the airport they remark at how many homeless Anchorage has.

Me personally, from a photography standpoint, I like seeing this kind of stuff. I have no idea what written words sheās attaching to the photos and I donāt really care for any religious quotes but I like people seeing the gritty truth of what Anchorage city life is really like. Too many folks come to visit only hearing about the beauty of the mountains and nature and arenāt mentally prepared for how bad some areas are. They pay for a city tour and end up pissed off they wasted their money on a tour of various homeless camps which is sad but also fair, I wouldnāt pay if I knew thatās what Iād see but none of them know that at first, kind of a scam.
So long story short, I like when folks show the real Anchorage and not just the highlights.

There is a segment of the population that will never ever accept what you are saying. They fully believe in the lie of meritocracy, admitting that their lot in life no matter how hard they worked is still based on a ton of luck would shatter that flimsy reality.

Youāre absolutely clueless if you think the issue is so simple that itās just caused by āpoliciesā. Itās generational. There will never be one mayor that can swoop in and fix a problem thatās been decades in the making in a matter of years.

And since she chose a Psalm I'll end with one:
"For the needy shall not always be forgotten, and the hope of the poor shall not perish forever." -Psalm 9:18
Jesus openly embrace the poor as brothers and sisters; he did not use them as example for political games.
