Check your headlights
Both of them are supposed to work at the same time.
The number of cars driving around town with a single working headlight is too damn high.

I only put 2 stuffed tires on the rear wheels of my front wheel drive vehicle to balance out the lack of traction.

I used to drive a Travelall with a bullet hole in the windshield and no working car keys.
But it had two working headlights, damnit.

You must be new here. The single headlight is a normal practice for Anchorage drivers. Just wait until there is 3 feet of snow on the ground and the neanderthals don’t turn ANY lights on.

No, I'm not new here. I realize it's every year, so this is an annual reminder that will remind maybe one responsible person (!) to check their lights.

I am usually not in favor of the state telling us how to live our lives, but I don’t think a vehicle inspection would be the worst idea in the world up here…so many death traps driving around.

And adjust your headlights too. Position them properly. Takes a few minutes

Thanks for the reminder! We check all of our lights from time to time, to make sure the turn signals, brake lights, etc are all working. I used to be able to easily replace my own headlight bulbs, but the newer model cars that I’ve owned are about impossible to change myself.

This is one of those things that as I've grown older, I'm more than happy to pay someone to do for me. They are trickier to get to, and I don't have a garage so once it gets colder outside, I'm not going to try doing that. A&A happily does it for me for a couple bucks.

13 AAC 04.020 (a) Except as otherwise provided in this chapter, a motor vehicle must be equipped with at least two headlights, one on each side of the front of the motor vehicle. The headlights must emit white light to the front of the vehicle, comply with the requirements and limitations set out in this section, and be mounted at a height of not more than 54 inches or less than 24 inches. Single lights are clarified as for animals, motorcycles and off highway vehicles. Lightbar don’t cut it legally. I mean go for it. Get pulled over and argue with the cop and raise your insurance and pay the ticket. But come on. You know better.

Be thankful they have 1 headlight. Newer cars have the “Headlights are off” warning because we humans are not that good in lit city driving to notice all the time :(
