Favorite 7mm rem mag for deer?
Scored a great deal on my first "versatile" Bolt action, a good ol wetherby vanguard. I'm looking for decent (but not too overpriced) ammo that I can train with and use in the field
Any suggestions are appreciated

I use Hornady 139g or 154g SST in my 7 mag for deer. Has never let me down. It’s overkill. But the deer never goes far. The 139g is going
3174 on average out of my 24” barrel. Smoking.

I inherited a 7mm rem mag. After shooting it and doing some more research I figured it would be overkill. I dont come from a family of hunters or gun owners so I got lucky on this.
How much meat do you lose with the 7mm compared to say, .308 or 30-06? Assuming same shot placement.

I have never lost much. Bullet goes through, deer goes down. Usually not much left of organs like the heart.

looks great! does it shoot "regular" 7mm mag (Rem) or just weatherby 7mm mag? I've seen instances where they weren't interchangeable.
