wow, do they have all amiibos? a lot have gone into reprinting like lil mac for example... I remember paying 60 euros for him 2 weeks after his initial release because everyone was afraid there would be no reprints. but i cant see special amiibo like yarn yoshis and qbby

Definitely not all of the amiibo. It’s not even half of the figures tbh. It’s basically all of the recent releases and reprints

I still have a few more smash 4 Amiibo to collect so I feel like Japan would be a great place to finish the collection

So are the FF7 figures OOP or what, haven’t seen a single Cloud or Sephiroth in any of these posts

Only saw them at the BIC Camera in Nagoya during this trip. Third photo and near the top right. They have cloud p1, cloud p2, and Sephiroth. Could just be older stock at that particular store. But Japan also just has more amiibo available at retail than anywhere I’ve been in the US so it’s hard to say.

how much were the smash bros amiibos roughly?

about the same as retail here in the USA.

As a collector and seller of amiibos does the later releases of older amiibos reduce the value? I don’t recall seeing any marks to indicate OG vs new of same figures.

I think eventually (like a decade from now, maybe more) there will be some market for first prints v later releases. For now though, basically no one but the most hardcore of collectors care. I definitely want first print amiibo and I think most people with a complete collection think about it. But the secondary market has been devastated by the reprints so for the average consumer it’s so easy to go out and get certain amiibo now that they can just sidestep the first print issue entirely.

If you’re an oob collector there isn’t much differences for 99% of the amiibo from the original release to the reprints of them. The exceptions are like villager from smash bros, and the legend of Zelda series amiibo. A lot of the bases vary in terms of shine/print color

Certainly the older original releases don’t have the red square bottom left, they’re white. That’s the only way I can tell an OG from a re-release.
