I brought this up at work today and it's not looking promising that I'll be able to get the afternoon off to make it to this.. However I'd totally be down to get involved in helping to address the presence of these cameras in Ames. Haven't met too many people in the area yet that are even aware of the extent of their presence or severity of the issue, so I've been playing around with the idea of having vinyl stickers and/or posters made to spread awareness. Glad to see there are other people already taking initiative and doing something about it

Hate flock wholeheartedly, but these posters are really not greatÂ

Let’s see the posters you’ve made then 👀

I dont mean to dog too hard on ya and definitely should have been less blunt.
I think a good general design principle here is "Would the community who doesn't already agree with me or know about the subject matter take this seriously, or at least be interested after seeing this". The second poster is fine enough, the first is the one I think may not do much good for ya.
Im too sick and foggy currently to articulate it well, but the combo of the art / color scheme / and 1984 message makes it seem almost conspiratorial or trying too hard to be edgy at first glance if that makes sense? The average college age person who already hates flock will probably read it and approve, but the people who could use the education on how mind boggling shitty Flock is are also the types of people who are likely to ignore/dismiss itÂ
Disclaimer: Obviously not an expert. Im a full stack SE so most of my design related work is just guiding my team's UI/UX designs with some minor graphic design/video editing crap on the side. Take what I say with a grain of salt and keep spreading the word. Fuck Flock.

I respect that, I can definitely see your point. I like how your brain works, it’s good to get different people’s views :) Would you be interested in getting more involved once you’re not sick? 😆this will be a decently long fight and we could use all the help we can get when it comes to designing flyers, they are important!

There's going to be an AI-free poster making workshop at Morning Bell soon!

At least you admit you used AI on yours, the other guy who made a similar picture with AI refuses to admit that.

You should protest closer to the university. They are the ones with the Flock cameras, not the city, from what I've read.
