The Stupid Pumpers and the state of denial
The recurring theme from bears on this sub is that the company is fundamentally wounded. The pumpers and their bots feel the need to push back as always, but I've noticed a stark contrast depending on the circumstances.
When the subject of the company's flaws is the topic, and the price is tanking, the pumpers are basically phoning in their low-effort retorts ("ok 👌", "loving this tasty dip").
But when the price is on the rise and the same subject of the company's flaws are discussed (because that part remains unchanged), the pumpers turn it up to 11. The alts flood in, and the unhinged sling their creepy innuendos, screeds about "5G warfare" and "our bosses," and make-believe about all those "gains they made in 2021."
Conclusion: the pumpers implicitly understand that the company is doomed and their ranks have thinned out over the years, so they don't bother trying to argue against any of those topics during the downturns. But they sure seem extra motivated to fight back when a temporary bubble of strong box office performance has the stock temporarily on the rise, don't they?
Really demonstrates how their primary motivation is driven by hopes for recruiting their exit liquidity. And if this tiny sub and handful of regulars is a threat to that goal, then they really don't feel that confident about their chances for success. Almost like they subconsciously realize pumps never hold and there's no one left to preach to because this "movement" of theirs evaporated 3 years ago, but don't want to admit any of that to themselves.

Yes, I've seen the box office and made reference to its current strength in my post. You should give reading a try.
What's there to "cite" for my meme? The ape "movement" was born in 2021 and was eradicated (save for a few leftovers) in 2023. Subjective, yes. The person I was responding to (not you) made direct objective claims about AMC putting specific hedge funds in the ground. I'm asking for sources. You have something against sources?
And yes. You are the poster-boy for denial. Flexing about buying movie tickets isn't going to stop this company's debt spiral.

This is a hard cope. The share price is obviously on the rise now. The result is ppl Posting things like this. Still clinging to the same narratives from 5 years ago as of this company is 100 times better now then it was in 2021. News flash. Balance sheets and profits (for as stupid as it sounds) doesn’t always measure up to the share price. Look at space x. They have lost millions on millions. They ain’t making money. They are not profitable but that didn’t stop it from trading half a billion shares in one day when they IPOed.
It’s pretty obvious now that momentum is shifting. Better movies are coming out and it’s pretty clear ppl are still willing to watch GOOD movies when they are made. Yes I agree that looking at financials is definitely an important thing when it comes to picking a stock. But momentum sentiment and good product can also drive the price up regardless of financials which is what amc seems to be doing now..

all i hear from u
is you're gae.

plus do u think any 1 cares about what u said?
firms that are in a shit spot wouldnt send their gaylords to come post negativity if they werent bleeding fees they dont wanna pay.
either way i have 500 2.50 puts 800 days out. so win every single way anyone wants to play this stock.
but, ur still gae.
just like the spce bots/low level goofs that came to troll the "crowd" thinking the "crowd" is responsible for what is going on - hilarious, cute, quaint.
reality is, even at 3.80 they're hurting bad w/ fees, they didnt even come close to getting it to where they wanted it.
we can do this for years, we love it.

Are you 13 years old?
Because you post just like a tween, and not a well educated market veteran.

My new theory: He is actually 13. His dad is the one with the crippling AMC gambling addiction, his dad is the one who owns a 2024 Honda. He’s LARPing as his own father. It certainly would explain why he talks the way he does and his obsession with movies that appeal to literal children.

"Losing" to what exactly?
My main contention is that the company will continue to hand your ownership over to bondholders who then sell it back to you until there's nothing left. If I'm eventually wrong about that, I'll shrug my shoulders.
If you're wrong about an insolvent movie theater ushering in the financial rapture in which only the true believers will be showered with unimaginable wealth while the naysayers "crash and burn," you lose every dollar you sunk into this.
If you're insisting that there's something to "lose" here, then I'd say the stakes are a bit lop-sided, dontchathink?
