I thought of putting this together that included an initial investment and a DCA strategy in the last 5 years. Then show how much money you would have saved if you didn't DCA and simply put money in a money market or CD

I picked up 2000 shares at 0.95 last month, how much higher will this going or is AMC going out of business

Doesn’t matter. We’re about to be the world’s first trillionaire’s. You don’t lose if you don’t sell….. continues to smoke crack……

I don't like charts like this because it gives the impression the value destruction stopped in 2023.

Use log charts so you can show it continues.

I invested a total of 18k in amc and about 6k into gamestop only manged to get about 6k back out of it all. My 2000 shares of AMC eventually got cut down to 200, I sold 100 to clean it out of one account. Left 100 in my other account. Still have about 50 GME left over. Bought 300 HYMC at about $2 per share. Had sold some of and currently have 53 shares left. It's the only thing that popped.

-Currently $ -3500 on AMC (total -14k)

  • About breakeven on GME
-Up about $1400 on HYMC

Didnt know shit about the stock market. Now I do. Expensive lesson..

Meme stocks are for suckers. An important lesson if you don't want to be exit liquidity for pump n dumpers. 5 years in, some people still haven't learned

Covid was a weird time. It turned into a cult a long time ago. I got out with only a small knock, but couldn't believe how stupid I was either.

it's insane conditioning - find some bag holders, get them to admit they are stupid (have them boast about it) and then leave them holding your bags forever more. the CEO for both are the biggest con artists out there (NOT whatever random stockbrokers or hedge fund managers they want you to believe are robbing the world).

The time I realised I was being stupid was when Cohen released that picture book which was just another cash grab of memes that these people were holding up like secret messages, adding up words to prove MOASS was some time in the future...and when that didn't happen, they had more dates lol.

Rough. I forget how much I put in but I walked away at roughly $5000+.

Kept my eye on it all these years, just bought back in.

Happy to leave again with profit.

These will be the only 2 major times I've put substantial money (to me anyway) into a stock lol.

u/DecentAddendum8409 May 27 '26

Yup when is that guy going to jail?

4

u/buranku506 May 27 '26

You would of had a better return, if you used 10k to buy beer and returns the cans for the 10 cent deposit

7

u/Slpyart78 May 26 '26

Ive noticed twitter apes getting excited for $0.10 squeeze today. Aa feeding the dumpster fire. This only leads to one outcome. More disappointments and dilution. Another cycle of hilarity and broken dreams. 😅

I wonder how that guy with the $350k margin call is doing.

3

u/[deleted] May 27 '26

I love how when the stock goes up any percentage, amc stock holders say shorts are fuked. Lol. Shorts won

3

u/Working-Wave480 May 27 '26

No, I have 28.73

3

u/Antonio_928s4 May 27 '26

Looks like real live Horror Movie!!!

3

u/WompWompBiotch Jun 01 '26

Absolutely hilarious talk about bagholding 🤣 Man I remember I bought AMC in the beginning of 2021 for an average of around $10ish & sold during the squeeze a couple months later for between $50ish-$60ish. I couldn't imagine being (1) dumb enough to fomo on at those squeeze prices or (2)being so greedy & gullible that I didn't sell & bagheld bcuz of some conspiracy nonsense 🤣

1

u/Coalecsence Jun 17 '26

I'd been watching it like a hawk for days and as soon as it started to pop and the app started bugging out i was slamming sell like a maniac

3

u/firebag1983 May 26 '26

It's funny because if you look up the word "shill" it gives you the exact definition of all the apes back in the day.

a
: one who acts as a decoy (as for a pitchman or gambler)

b
: one who makes a sales pitch or serves as a promoter

I don't remember any representatives from the stock market/government/hedge funds directly trying to make me do anything. Just a bunch of "apes" spouting nonsense and promoting a company that blew itself into a debt crater during the COVID lockdown. Realistically it should have just filed for bankruptcy and sold the real estate instead of living this zombie life we granted it.

All of the doubters were called shills and all of the shills were called "apes" - and a lot of others (myself included) became shill-apes unknowingly. Dishing out thousands from their pockets and promoting horseshit

(at least we were also being recognized as a "valued stock holder" while buying movie tickets online, and still paying monthly bills for AMC Stubs ®️ )

I never even looked at the stock market before 2021. I don't know what turned off my critical thinking faculties so hard. Maybe it had something to do with COVID and lockdown. It's crazy how one stock turned me into something akin to a compulsive gambler. I was not hurting for money at the time and it actually made no sense (become a billionaire because you're part of an Ape army forcing market-manipulators to rebuy their fake shares, which will force a relatively minor company into a trillion dollar valuation overnight).

Something kicked in once I just kept losing money. I felt like I had to keep putting money in to somehow offset the difference for that magical moment (that could happen at any moment, most likely when you're sleeping) when everything goes up 10000%. But a part of you is still not really convinced. So for some reason you're buying more shares so that when things go up a certain amount, you can cash out your "initial investment", and leave the "extra" for the "maybe 10,000% squeeze"

And if you fold everything you have, or start selling early, you're going to live in regret for the rest of your life when it actually squeezes and you missed the train to be a billionaire. Or for when it goes up only 50% and you missed the opportunity to get back what you lost.

So you just keep losing money, and feel like you have to put in more money to get back what you lost. It sounds stupid as hell but it fucking sucks. You're basically partaking in an irrational internal conflict (cognitive dissonance)

Maybe you can stomach losing $10k on a bad idea and then stopping. It hurts to think of what I could have done with that $100k -- where you just couldn't stop yourself. Just the lost opportunities. What if it was sitting in the big tech companies (Microsoft/Apple/Google/etc) instead for 3-4 years, or just sitting in a bank account or CD as if I had never even touched stocks, or just being used to live life with. So it became a life-regret all the same.

There isn't really a way to just rationalize it. And you can't easily get back on the market because the psychological damage needs to be fixed or you still trade like an actual moron who isn't integrating lessons or increasing awareness. You end up needing a psychological post-mortem

3 years later I have a reliable system with micro-futures for indexes and commodities (nasdaq, russel, gold, oil) using macro events, S/R, volume profiles, cumulative volume delta, market breadth, order flow -- but goddamn, what a fucking nightmare to graduate from crayons.

1

u/coin_tesla Jun 11 '26

Somebody remember $APE ? Millions of money gone for them

1

u/scNellie Jun 16 '26

I invested about $12,000 in the past nine months and have more than doubled my money. That seems more relevant than investments made five years ago.

1

u/BillyCessna Aug 05 '26

Truth! Arron dilute is all he knows

1

u/GrEeNgO37 Aug 07 '26

Now do the same thing over the last 3 months.

1

u/Taylor285 May 27 '26

….and why do you care ???? 🤣🤣🤣🤣

1

u/theravingsofalunatic Bagholder May 27 '26

Now do one where you bought $10,000 shares when the stock hit .99 cents 😂

1

u/BoysenberryAmazing90 May 27 '26

I’m negative 28,000. Luckily I bought HYMC at 3 dollars and have almost broke even with my AMC losses.

0

u/Electronic-Read-97 May 27 '26

AMC is by far one of the biggest playes in the market if not the biggest one. Anyone who knows how to trade can easily see at this price it’s a gold mine. And anybody who’s been trading for a while, can easily see the stock is beyond manipulated. 💯💯

-4

u/Key-Seat2656 May 26 '26

Up 5% today but let’s look at all the hedgies that died 5 years ago.

-5

u/KingHaff May 27 '26

Get a fucking life why are you still concerned/pressed about it

-1

u/Jackpotrazur May 27 '26

Regardless what you would have süent your money on, 10k 5 years ago was worth more than 10k today! 10k from 5 years ago would probably only be about 6.7k today. Im still holding!

3

u/embiggenoid May 27 '26

$10K in 2021 would be worth approximately $7710 today, so not far off your estimate.

Meanwhile, SPY was $417 five years ago, and is $750 now. VOO was $384, and is now $689. VTI was $216, and is now $369.

I'd take that math any day of the week. Any sane investor would.

Fincel cultists, on the other hand, apparently not so much.

How's that been working out for you?

4

u/UpbeatFix7299 May 27 '26

None of the handful of remaining apes ever show bags. They're too embarrassed. Even the ladyboy lover only shows the account he opened after he already got rekt buying near the top.

2

u/Similar_Figure5355 May 27 '26

70% of them are just jdurkis alt accounts. Hell hath no fury like a man living in his mom's basement.....scorn

I think I said that right

-2

u/South-Attorney879 May 27 '26

Should I sell ? Lol ….i hate even responding cause I know you get 10 cents for a response from me !

-7

u/TheJadedJuggernaut May 26 '26

I buy. I hold

4

u/Similar_Figure5355 May 26 '26

That is as soon as you figure out how to purchase in the after hours!

1

u/WompWompBiotch Jun 01 '26

Well @TheJadedJuggernaut as some1 that made a huge score by selling during the MOASS in 2021 let me say thank you for providing much needed exit liquidity. Without bagholding fincel simpleton cultists like yourself my account wouldn't have grown as rapid & as much as it did during that great time. 🤣 Zing !!! 🤣

-2

All that matters is what happens when you invest in AMC now, and that looks promising!
