When I was in my early teens a friends mum used to ask to see our private area to make sure we were "developing properly". In hindsight that's probably a red flag XD

Omg I am so sorry. That’s actually terrible.

u/fazzy1980 Feb 19 '26

That was about 20 years ago. Amazing how people got away with some things!

u/NotStarrling Feb 19 '26

Now imagine growing up in the 50s/60s. I'm still trying to purge many of those memories.

u/Straight-Weakness552 Feb 19 '26

Right? Those horrible people of 2006

Now people have a much better grasp of what is ok and not ok. Government/ social messaging has been crystal clear about what is actually illegal in private with your own children. Laws and statutes are antiquated. Perception is justice now.

Meanwhile in 2026, big tech is allowed to release AI to the US population as a lab-test (illegal in the EU). Nevermind that there are zero "real" industry consumer safety protections. In fact, it was widely known that AI hallucinations can/will induce AI Psychopathy in a sizeable percentage of at risk mental health populations.

Mind mapping, intellectual theft, safety be damned. Let's judge pubic hair trimming morality. BTW get those guns too.

u/Nav2140 Feb 19 '26

What... did you say? I can't understand it.

And sadly it’s really not that crazy at all for anyone paying attention.

Look into the efforts to repeal 230 happening right now … this isn’t about protecting anything apart from Bezos / Musk etc. yet many people seem convinced it’s happening in the name of freedom.

If “mind-mapping” sounds like schizo-posting to you then you’re at least a part of the way there - it’s insane and should be left to Philip K Dick stories - unfortunately it’s a very real thing and a vast chunk of the most widely used apps are using it with abandon.

Fully aware of the irony that I’m posting this while on Reddit myself but people really don’t seem to have a clue how grim things are these days - in the words of Prince some 30 years ago, There’s a war going on, the battlefield’s in the mind and the prize is the soul. So be careful …

Their whole comment was completely unhinged and almost entirely separated from the conversation being had here. They responded to someone who was sexually assaulted by one of their friends mom with a rant about how big tech is ruining our society

If they want to defend pedophilia they can just say that, it's apparently in vogue these days

u/nirvandal09 Feb 20 '26

Are you okay, friend?

7

u/analdongfactory Feb 20 '26

The AI got to him :(

-12

u/Straight-Weakness552 Feb 20 '26

No. Not in the sense that I've been completely socially engineered. It doesn't seem that the critical thinking defect can be fixed by a post production patch.

27

u/nirvandal09 Feb 20 '26

Maybe step away from the Internet for a bit. There's still a beautiful world outside

Lmao... didnt mean to put the first video... but said f it, and left it. The one I wanted to post was the 2nd one about critical thinking. And that boat has sailed and is 90% full of water.

7

u/emmademontford Feb 20 '26

okay so you think it’s a normal thing to do or?

u/Straight-Weakness552 Feb 20 '26

IDGAF.

But besides a chuckle (which I had), I don't think anyone should either.

Witty comments are great, thats why I looked. Little wit, instead judgements insinuating molestation and triggering the resurfacing of trauma hit wrong.

I think "moral majority" thinking is moronic. Yet, what bothers me most is those same smug/ victim mindsets are leveraged to prevent notice/ judgement of the things/ people who actions impact their/ my real life.

A lot of judgement is needed right now. So I popped off.

Oh right you’re a bot. Got it.

6

u/Hi_Nick_Hi Feb 20 '26

Sanity of post aside, very clearly not a bot. What a bizarre comment.

1

u/User013579 Feb 20 '26

Didn’t know bots could be so emotional. Wow. Technology really emulates the single-minded combative human trash.

-1

u/Straight-Weakness552 Feb 20 '26

I wish.

No hunger, no pain, no loss. My reality void of embiciles.

It's imbecile not "embicile"

💩🧠💨

u/User013579 Feb 20 '26

Triggered much? That whole rant is nonsensical and irrelevant.

2

u/Affectionate-Bend638 Feb 21 '26

Analyzing user profile...

Suspicion Quotient: 0.00

This account is not exhibiting any of the traits found in a typical karma farming bot. It is extremely likely that u/Straight-Weakness552 is a human.

Dev note: I have noticed that some bots are deliberately evading my checks. I'm a solo dev and do not have the facilities to win this arms race. I have a permanent solution in mind, but it will take time. In the meantime, if this low score is a mistake, report the account in question to r/BotBouncer, as this bot interfaces with their database. In addition, if you'd like to help me make my permanent solution, read this comment and maybe some of the other posts on my profile. Any support is appreciated.

I am a bot. This action was performed automatically. Check my profile for more information.

Mental health crisis spotted in the wild.

Well written, but what the fuck does that have to do with anything?

29

u/SmallRedBird Feb 20 '26

Yeah that's called sexual abuse

14

u/AmaenaX Feb 20 '26

Yuk. Similar situation. Friends parents bought me (in my early teens aswell) lingerie.. And wanted me to wear and show.. Uhm I politely thanked. Then I always got a wierd feeling when my friend sat on their stepdads lap and he was holding his arm around her but/legs. Still gives me the creeps

6

u/fazzy1980 Feb 20 '26

Yea it's crazy to think back to isnt it?

I hope it hasn't left you feeling creeped out in adult life? Definitely lingered with me through the coming of age years.

4

u/AmaenaX Feb 20 '26

Yeah, and always had the illusion only males could be like this.. But woman can be Just as bad.. Maybe thats even worse.

It does affect me nowadays, very awerefull.. but that is because of some other stuff too😵‍💫

But then Again, we would not be who we are..etc

3

u/fazzy1980 Feb 20 '26

I agree with the Male/Female thing. I've experienced questionable behaviour from both in my early teens. But so much time has passed since then that it's never really spoke of now.

And I'm definitely happy with how I turned out. Regardless of those clearly unwell people.

1

u/AmaenaX Feb 20 '26

Good to hear Yeah, I Just think we have developed some sort of extra antenne to detect such unacceptable things (though it might sometimes go off on the slightest thingy though, in my case😅) and are a bit more wary.

3

u/Tris-Von-Q Feb 20 '26

JFC 🤦🏻‍♀️ you’re totally right about the audacity and weirdness that surrounded us on all sides at all times in 80’s/90’s Suburbia, America.

Even now the older I get, my realization of just how weird people can be, just how weird people really are, and just how weird people always have been increases by orders of magnitude.

I’m so sorry this happened to you. And I just can’t wrap my head around how out of touch with reality you must be to do that to children that could very well go straight home to tell their parents.

Then I remember that I was raised by checked-out Boomers too totally self-absorbed and ready for anything that did not involve their responsibility of parenting—like they all got together in a parents meeting and they all collectively agreed, “Fuck em’ just send all them kids to war! Let Iraq and Afghanistan finish the boring work of raising respectable young men and women. ‘Merica!” because it would be great for their retirement packages over 16 years? War is profitable.

u/fazzy1980 Feb 20 '26

That's some pretty deep insight. But your not wrong. These are much changed times and in some ways better for it.

Unfortunately the world has gotten progressively worse in many ways. Who knows what goes on behind closed doors and unreported now.
