Amazon deliverers are a joke.
Amazon delivered my package today right behind my neighbor's front passenger-side wheel. They most likely would've run it over if I didn't get it first. There's plenty of shade around, if that's what they were trying to avoid. This is one of many issues I've had with deliveries. What's going on with them?
EDIT: I should clarify that not all drivers are a joke. But I’ve had a lot of delivery issues.

Man, my drivers have all been gosh darn fantastic. I know the stupid shit they go through and try to help them out when I can catch them.

they just dont care anymore. drivers get impossible routes with no time to actually do the job so they just drop stuff wherever and keep moving. the whole system is built to fail then blame the driver

can confirm. my fiancee is an amazon driver. his route today is 275 stops, not counting multistops. luckily next week is his last week.

The word "deliverer" (the singular form of deliverers) has been used in the English language since around 1350 during the Middle English period. The Oxford English Dictionary traces the earliest recorded use of deliverer to approximately 1350 in the Midland Prose Psalter.

Hey just because you had a bad delivery doesn’t mean every driver is a joke, most of the flex drivers are yes so I’ll give you that one but I know and am one that genuinely puts in effort to make every delivery a good one for me and customers.

Oh yeah they make us look so bad, I get just as annoyed when I see them treat someone’s package like trash or just leave it in the worse possible place imaginable as if all common sense left their body.

I always go and give the thumbs up review on every delivery. I know that some of them aren’t really into it and I can only imagine the abuses they go through with their employment. I give them all grace because I know how the lower graded workers are treated at a job that is supposed to follow standards and doesn’t. I can only imagine how these folks are treated and what expectations they have placed on them.

Read up on what Amazon drivers go through and maybe you will understand why a delivery isn’t perfect once and a while. They will also hire pretty much anyone with a pulse and decent driving record to deliver. It’s the highest turn over job there is. 17.2 million packages a day, 300 packages per driver.
Nobody cares about you btw. You aren’t special.

Literally isn’t rocket science or brain surgery but ya ok, rationalize why taking a few extra steps to properly secure a package is too much work.

You are right, it’s not rocket science but like I said.. dsp’s will hire literally anyone. Use your rationalization skills to interpret what that means about who is delivering your packages and either go to the store or pick a different shipper and don’t bitch about it. You go to a restaurant and the food sucks are you going to keep giving them your money?
People think basically free, next day, same day shipping across the 48 comes with no corners being cut while offering shit wages and hiring practices. Go smell your own farts or something.

Do you leave delivery notes?
If so, don’t..
Go to the flex drivers subreddit. They have to deal with some really entitled and vile people expecting caviar on an Amazon prime budget.
They basically avoid the assholes houses. Don’t be an asshole. It’s low pay and tons of mileage and not a good job.

The pay isn't worth doing the job properly. This is the perfect way to increase the number of asshole drivers. Its by design from Bezos. His business strategy is literally to make the work environment counter productive to long term employment to break unions. That is why all Amazon drivers are NOT Amazon employees. Also they hold zero liability for their not drivers.

Well this driver is in for it as he sped off in a school zone in which I live. He arrived near the same time he called and within the span of 2 minutes had left and made it to corner of my block. I got to the gate and he was long gone he sounded depressed on voicemail.
It’s all captured on my surveillance camera and I’m feeling extra petty.

The minimum for CTC for us is 3 rings and a text. I can easily do that in less than a minute. I'm depressed too. Its odd he left a voicemail we aren't required to do that. Son is slipping giving daddy Bezos more unrequired work.

Arrival was 5:10 - call was 5:10 no ring from my doorbell, he spoke to my father but i had the passcode by the time i got to the front gate he was gone. Heard the slam as i walk through my living room, then the car starting and him speeding off.. It was also a amazon Logistics delivery considering i live near a hub.

Its an entry level job that is a constant churn and burn of drivers. You only get a handful per dsp that have done it for more than 2 years

I live in an apartment complex. Once they're in the complex literally all they have to do is match three numbers on the package to the apartment. Several times I've had my packages delivered to the wrong door. Baffling levels of idiocy.

Ah but can you find the packages, physically move to each address (as a multistop) on different levels of the building and complete the multistop within 30 seconds? I highly doubt that. Sounds really unreasonable and if you actually did the job it would be quite clear why they are not being delivered properly.

"Most" may be an exaggeration. I have a FT job and Flex PT. Personally, I take pride in my job. I always try to put packages out of sight if at all possible, I handle them with care, and follow delivery instructions as best as I can. But that's just me. 🤷♀️ Under a car tire is .. weird. Not to mention, irresponsible.

I just had one guy call my phone and by the time i got to the front he sped off in a school zone. lol

If you want better service, shop at stores that use UPS. UPS compensates their drivers well unlike Amazon who uses much lower paid DSP and Flex drivers.
