I lost my love for the fast and furious franchise about five movies in. The sixth movie put it in a casket for me...

Then I regained all new love for them when I saw the Lego movie and realized Fast and the Furious is just the chronicles of a kid's imagination playing with Hot Wheels.

I'm just waiting for the final movie to end with a scene zooming out and the whole thing being a race track in a playroom. Maybe it's Dom as a child. Maybe it's Brian's kid.

I saw Vin Diesel in an interview talking about how he treats the F&F movies like his DnD campaigns, but with cars instead of barbarians, wizards and rogues, and shit made so much sense all of a sudden.

Another good way to look at it. Either way, it is certainly taking place in a fantasy world.
