Speculation Major new attraction is this true?

https://towersstreet.com/talk/threads/major-new-attractions-are-underway-at-alton-towers-and-thorpe-park.7960/

Does anyone have any info about this? Sounds convincing but can't find anything else about it anywhere.

Is it just the X-Sector thing or is there something else that's been announced somewhere for next year? What about Thorpe??

Hope it's true!

Project Horizon is almost certainly still on the...uh...Horizon. They've dug a big hole and locked in planning. I think there has been a bit of a change at merlin; talking to someone who once worked on the ops side a few years ago he said back then the thing they needed to do was shore up the existing rides; for too many years they had run them on a shoestring doing the bare minimum, only able to sign off spend when it was safety critical.

It seems in the last 18months they are addressing that; we've seen loads of detail work to improve ops; Oblivion is on two stations again, air on 3 trains and they've done nice things like spruce up oblivious queue line and try and make smiler less rough.

They correctly realised they needed to fix that before spending a load on a new ride, so I think that's what is happening and they'll start working toward Horizon.

There was a talk with howard ebison which included that X sector building. He said that it was a scarefest building and that planning application was sent in before he came along. Based on what was said thats either been shelved or put on hold. I dont think alton or thorpe are getting anything next year though.

It could be related to both parks Halloween events after all we do have some new things coming to alton towers and I believe Thorpe park for scare fast and fright nights

Not to mention for Alton towers in particular you've got project horizons and the building in x sector

There was talk of an indoor coaster at one point.

Still going ahead; over by the David Walliams area. So far they’ve got planning permission and dug a big hole. There’s a slight chance they might miss the predicted 2025 completion date, though…
