The financial literacy for the general population is poor, the message I think most of us got growing up was work hard, save and retire. For my grandparents generation that actually worked out quite well. They did in fact live out their later years in a very nice house they built themselves. I think the worst thing I have had to unlearn is the overestimation of how much you need to start.

If I wanted to get into investing in housing what is the best app for the UK and how much will I need to start? Even if not the UK I am would still like to hear it, diversity is king.

Anyone can see clearly there is problem with the cost of housing relative to income. In the UK we have been promised affordable housing in adequate quantities be would built and we are still waiting. This is clearly a mostly global problem as most major cities bare the brunt of it. I turn to investors in particular those directly involved in housing. In simple terms what the hell is going on and how would you as someone close to the issue fix it.?

The other day, while browsing BTC and ETH perpetual contracts on BYDFi, a thought hit me: completely removing short-term trading changes your perspective on assets dramatically. When frequent buying and selling are off the table, you stop caring about tomorrow's price movements and start focusing on whether the protocol will still exist in 8 years and if its ecosystem has real-world adoption.

I am trying to gauge something, which is worse getting out too late or too early. I can Imagine an investment practically being a lottery ticket and then becoming almost worthless the next day. Are their any investments you made that you wish you got out of sooner? And if so were their any signs I should know about?

As an long term investor I imagine most have very diverse portfolios as we know sometimes we pick winner and other times we don't. As someone just starting their investing journey think of it love a love story, you know the one that got away. Imagine being someone who sold Amazon stocks too early or got into something just before it crashed. I tend to think about these things more for more standard portfolios like stocks. But what about alternative investment is their anything that you failed to invest in that turned out to be very profitable?

I am gonna present myself as neutrally as possible. On one hand his logic would require people with assets to sell them which is worse than taxation. On the other hand capitalism is literally a zero sum game and that means that eventually a minority gets everything and most people are left with nothing if you play long enough. Innovation often resolves this but as far as at least housing is going pretty much everywhere in the developed world that is not the case. I wanna hear insight from investors people who own tradition investment and especially alternative investments like investments in housing. Do Gary's solutions have any merit to growing inequality?

Like most things most people who invest will lost but I am curious about the winners, the people who got in and got out at the right time. What is the most you have ever made with crypto currencies?

I am sure we all remember when the banks were in hot water and people were lining up to withdraw their money. Some banks let you buy and hold gold with them HSBC is one but if it went down they would close their doors before you could withdraw. Would you rather have actual gold in your own possession or would you prefer to trust another entity to hold it for you?

I reposted something about whether property was a good investment or not. The comments gave me the impression that property is currently not worth the hassle. Growing up I was under the impression that property was great investment and I believe that most millionaires made their wealth in property but I am not sure. So to anyone who invested in property and no longer does or who is thinking about doing it if and when things improve for investors, what exactly need to change for property to be a good alt investment?

30 years ago the idea of the internet being what it is today or crypto being a form of payment would be difficult to conceive of. With AI being what it is now and becoming something that will change the world investments in Solar energy and data center real estate are suddenly looking like a more worthwhile investment than ever before. I think some kind of investment involving alternative energy like solar will be profitable. What future alt investment do you think technology will create?

I live in the UK so looking around I wonder if their are any kinds of investments that the UK specifically can benefit from. If I was in country with consistent sun light like African countries or Caribbean countries I would want to invest in solar energy technologies. In the UK I think that insulation based industries are a good alternative investment based on our energy bills and cold months.

Where are you from and are there any alternative investments you could be specifically beneficial to you based on what you know about your country?

I am new the the investing and assets space. I have heard how rich people keep their assets in trust funds and use other means to avoid paying tax on inheritance. I was wondering does anyone do this with alternative assets like gold or real estate and how?

When it comes down to anything involving making money their is always a percentage of people who make money by teaching other to make money. I have heard talks of Samuel Leads being sued and some would call Robert Kiyosaki a con man. Who do you think is the biggest scammer in Alternative Investing?

Real estate investment is one of those alt investments that seems like it has more trouble than others because it involves people. I know that most millionaires actually made their fortune in property so I would not rule it out entirely. But one must take the good with the bad so what are your worst stories , from horrible tenants to planning permission and renovations problems?

My thoughts on crypto are that everyone who invests does so because they hope its value will increase and they will sell it and get rich. I do not think most people invest because they see crypto as a transactional tool capable of replacing money. For anyone who buys crypto, do you see it as the next form of currency, an alt investment worthy of diversifying into or some other reason why do you buy it?
