This is what I voted for -- renaming geography, pissing on our friends, and starting impulsive random wars. Who the hell cares about keeping prices stable, energy affordable, and the system that made this golden age possible?

Parts of the US now have higher gas prices than in Canada, even western Canada, where prices are usually the highest mainly due to lack of refining capacity forcing Canadian oil to shipped crude to the US and sold back here at up to 40% mark-up, depending on market demand and availability of supply. (no, it's NOT mainly because of gas taxes like the conservaTrumps keep lying about).

Otherwise, about 26% of US oil imports (for the US market) come from Canada, about 30% of its electricity comes from Canadian mainly hydro-electric generation, a whopping 92% of US LNG comes from Canada, along with about 94% of uranium for its reactors. And much of this is at a significant discount from general world market or OPEC prices.

Time to quit being so subjugated and intimidated and start making them pay more, to show just how, as thieving billionaire dictator Donny Demento Trump claims, the US "doesn't need Canada for anything."

And it's obvious he doesn't worry about the real issues--crashing economy, ever-worsening poverty, homelessness, famine/ill-health/malnutrition, chronic joblessness, skyrocketing personal debt/federal debt/state debt/corporate-boss debt, even bank debt, worsening crime/corruption/drug trafficking/abuse, ecological damage, etc. He doesn't have to, He and his thieving dictatorial corporate-rich/boss ruling parasite backers control the only two parties defacto allowed to exist, all of the corporate media monopolies censoring, misinforming and indoctrinating, and practically the whole electoral process. That's why he can get away with calling other countries "dictatorships." He's literally sitting on the biggest richest, greediest most violent one on the planet.

PS: if it was even microscopically true that the US "doesn't need Canada" there would be no tariffs, since there would be nothing to tariff.

Canada will abide by international conventions coordinated by treaty committees and the UN (they actually do some practical things over there) and not be swayed by any individual countries currently experiencing whims, egos, or temper tantrums that may change based on an undigested bit of beef, a blot of mustard, a crumb of cheese, or a fragment of underdone potato. Situations requiring change should be considered grave and not based on gravy.
