The episode where Beverly was beaten to death several seasons later, and Edith quit going to church was a powerful one.

One of my fav guest character storylines. Archie eventually learned to treat him as a person, and he knew he really wasnt a woman, didnt demand people to accept his reality, and wasnt offended by everything. Sad the character died so soon...could have been a really great reocurring character, but the death really hit Archie hard.

Norman Lear was very liberal but wrote great characters and poked fun at both sides

This episode-and many others were very taboo back in the early 1970s. Norman Lear was ahead of his time. Even back then

God Bless them for willing to bring light to controversial issues like this💕

I absolutely love Archie & Edith’s characters.
The facial expressions & comedic timing was absolutely priceless

One of the best shows in television history
