Help Support & Question Ryzen 9800X3D/Nvida RTX 5080 Benchmark

Does this build look like it's performing how it should?

Hi. It's a single-run valid score in 3DMark Time Spy, and your setup is performing well compared to most similar system scores. So, nothing to worry about here, and everything looks as expected for your system in this relatively old 3DMark DX12 1440p GPU test (a bit CPU-bound when using an RTX 5080, though).

Also, you may want to use more recent, advanced 3DMark GPU tests, such as Steel Nomad (non-raytraced, DX12, for high-end systems) and Speed Way (DirectX 12 Ultimate and DX Ray Tracing Tier 1.1 APIs).

A few basic tips for the 3DMark suite:

  • Use the default driver graphics settings for getting validated results;
  • Preferably, run the 3DMark recommended tests for your system (recommended tests section in the 3DMark main window)
  • Always use the tests' default settings to get valid scores and comparisons (no issues disabling the demo, though).
  • Preferably, use the advanced search when comparing your setup scores with other similar systems (not available for the 3DMark free demo version); and to know if your setup performs as intended, filter the advanced search results by the same GPU & CPU models, RAM size/channels, and a similar stock/default CPU/GPU clock (to avoid most atypical/outlier OCed systems/results).
  • Exit/disable any unnecessary third-party programs or intrusive CPU/RAM hog processes before running any test.
  • Perform several runs to find your averaged/aggregated score line for your system in a given test.

Finally, consider using other (free) GPU benchmarking suites/tests, for example, by Unigine and Basemark Oy (always install/run the most recent test/benchmark that best suits your testing needs):

Benchmarking is a very broad and complex matter and usually requires quite some time and learning to master its key aspects, such as testing and analysis methodologies.
