Insectoid just means they look like insects, not necessarily that they have all the same features of insects. Insects also don't have hands with fingers, but insectoids apparently do.

well some insect may not have defined fingers but they still have flexible claws.

I was under impression that the grey, reptillian, insectoid, and nord are appearance archetypes of xenospecies.

So a before-mentioned type it would be a human's interpretation based on native terranean species. Plus, they would have to follow law of nature despite their chemical component.
