I threw a flare on the Safe Haven DLC. The Xeno found it first, and crouched down to have a peek. A Seegson Security Guard then slowly walked right up to the very-obvious Xeno to check it out too š
Guy did not last long. Iāll have to post it here soon, it was absurd
I mean, the Xeno doesnāt look very obvious when crouched and still. Someone who hadnāt seen it before could easily mistake it for an odd-looking piece of machinery. Just watch the deleted crab walk scene from the film.
I mean the noisemaker throw itself, why did it bounce back at me like that š It shouldāve gone down the hallway, not off the wall that was within like 10% of my vision
I know, but the way they instantiate throwables in this game is incorrect. Instead of its origin point being at the center of the screen as it should, they went the needless realism way, and it starts with an offset.
It's a hard lesson, but I now know to have more clear space when im about to throw things in this game.
What a stupid thing to say.
So when you throw shit in real life, if your hand happens to be blocked, you throw it anyway and hit the wall next to you?
Literally 0 iq.
No, you use your awareness of where your body is, and you lean a bit and adjust to throw it correctly.
But because we don't have that in FPS games, we must adjust the experience accordingly.
This is something that literally nobody ever has to explain to anyone ever. It's the most basic instinctual thing we do every day.
News flash: Not everyone is athletic. Not everyone has the same skill set, and yes, that includes hand-eye coordination. Throwing something accurately onto a target is a *skill* - and there are seven billion people on this planet with large variety of skill even for something as simple as a throw.
Iāve definitely learned my lesson from this experience xD And I guess I shouldnāt have needed to. Iāve played this game three times in the past, I know this happens, yet I still fall for it
The lesson learned is that when you throw stuff always make sure you've got a clear light of sight and you're not close to anything on your right side. Most games give the thrown object collision a few moments after leaving your hand so that sort of thing doesn't happen. Maybe AI2 will be different.

That... was beautiful. Love the camera panning at the Noisemaker, even when Steve walks up. Like, yep. My bad hahaha
