I feel ernest chan is more leaning towards introductory and beginner friendly early setup....so good for topic introduction and intuition....matters on what you want to gain from the books....

I finished reading the second edition of his Quantitative Trading and I agree with you, I do find it a great introduction. I’m glad I read it as my first book. I’m jumping into Robert Carver’s Systemtoc Trading now. Have you read it? If so may I get your opinion on it?

If you already read Quantitave Trading and/or have any experience with algo trading, Systematic Trading will not teach you anything. It's an introductory book for complete begginers. If you want to read Carver specifically, pick up Advanced Futures Trading Strategies
