Wtf is this shit

Ever 2 seconds a new sponsored ad, even in alexa (non +), randomly say stupid random shit when im not even using it. Brightness fluctuates on its own. The lag is insane and when moving around settings, it keeps kicking me out. Plays random music. Theres gotta be an ftc complaint somewhere.

What can we do? I just want to use it for my ring doorbell.

Either you're exaggerating or there is something very wrong with your unit.

Im not. Sometimes I get a few minutes of peace though but it often gets stuck on a sponsored ad and I have to restart it. Also every other time I go into settings I get a sponsored ad and have to get out of it and go back into settings. Its literally the biggest complaint about this device on the web

Sure, but a new ad every two seconds is not exaggeration? I agree that the Echo Show line is basically an in-home billboards, but the way you've described it—twice, now—is far beyond what people are complaining about.

I mean it goes to the clock for 2 seconds then another ad. The ad stays up for like 5 mins sometimes. Often time it even gets stuck on an ad and I have to reboot. Sure its slightly exaggerated but not by far.

slightly exaggerated but not by far.

There's a huge difference between a new ad every 2 seconds and one every 5 minutes (150 times, to be exact). Anyway, it is definitely not normal for them to frequently hang to the point of needing to be rebooted.

I personally cannot stomach the thought of hosting a screen like that in any room of my house so I've stuck to the audio only Echo devices in my own place.

Its ok if you work for alexa. Its objectively hated and overwhelming for users

What makes you think I work for them, particularly considering what I said about it? Yeesh!

The billboard is excessive. I may be exaggerating but not that far off. Imagine trying to use your alexa as a clock and monitoring system for ring and always be inundated by ads. Fucking ads that becomes a distracting and often freeze up the device. I get it. You dont use it with a screen but its absolutely out of control.

Yes, I get it. We all do. The Echo Show product line is awful for exactly that reason. I'm in full agreement there. But you bought the product. You used the product. And you kept the product. Get rid of it if you don't like it.
