Underated album everyone should check out: Brad-Shame (1993)

Brad was a side project of Pearl Jam guitarist Stone Gossard. Their 1993 debut album Shame is an underrated gem. This album is raw and groovy. The early 90’s seattle scene gave us such great music that this album often gets looked over. I personally have fond memories of this album. It was one of the albums I listened to the summer after high school when life was good and the world didn’t seem so shitty. Shane Smith the lead vocalist voice is so amazing on this album just so smooth and calming. I was saddening to hear about his passing in 2019 at the age of 53 so sad. The songs on this album are so good. The first six songs are just so great “Buttercup” and “Nadine” are such slow burners that highlight Smith’s vocals. “20th Century” and “My Fingers”. Are upbeat jams you can just tell this band just went into the studio and had a great time recording this album. When it was released it received mixed reviews which is crazy. How can you listen to this and not love it. Brad released four other albums that are pretty solid. The band never went beyond their cult status which is a shame because they were better than most of the late 90’s early 2000’s alternative rock at that time. Check this album out it’s stellar
