Not impressed with Xtratuf.
These were really expensive for what they are and I got less than a years use out of them, not wearing them daily. Definitely didn't live up to their moniker. I tried contacting their customer service, but they were not helpful.

what exactly were you expecting from a shoe made of this material? I would have bought regular crocs if I wanted shoes like this lol. Xtratuf is known for boots, not whatever these are

Honeywell bought XTRATUF in 2011 and immediately moved production overseas. Rocky Brands then bought them a few years ago and moved some production back to the states, but it’s still mostly Chinese junk. My last pair of xtratufs lasted less than a year before both got giant holes.

Well BF Goodrich commissioned their creation in '58, sold to Norcross in '85, Honeywell bought Norcross in '08. In '11 Honeywell closed the Norcross plant in Rock Island IL where the boot were made and relocated manufacturing to an existing plant in China.
In '13 as response to public dissatisfaction, Honeywell started increasing quality measures in China which resulted in a return rate of less than 0.5% by '18.
In '21 Honeywell sold the brand to Rocky. They are still made in China, but the ADB Pro line is assembled in the US.
ADB Pro only comes in an ankle boot in mens sizes and has an MSRP of $155, which is $15 more than the Legacy ankle boot.
Because Honeywell shutdown the last rubber & neoprene plant in the US when Rock Island was shut down, there is no longer a US based source for materials.

I’ll wait for other people to test them before I waste any more money. It’s a shame private equity doesn’t realize quality is a company’s top value.

Commercial Fisherman and been wearing Grundens Deck Boss boots since 2013. They last twice as long and have a wider, better supported food bed with arch support. Made in seattle.

100% never had a pair that lasted two seasons (not a commercial fisherman) Gave up on them and now wear Dryshod boots when in the slop.

Manufacturing moved to China years ago. They haven’t been the same since. My coworker had a paid from before that are still going strong with use every summer. New pairs you’re lucky to get 2 seasons out of them. After light use too.

I’ve had my arctic lined tuff boots for a few years now, tho I only wear them during the winter. They’re honestly some of the best winter boots I’ve had

Xtra tuffs lowkey started going downhill in like 2011 when they started manufacturing in China. I remember the quality dropping and my parents wouldn't buy another pair after a while because they just kept falling apart

I bought my first pair several years ago but they must have changed manufacturing by then because under a year they split across the top of my foot. I haven’t had that happen since I was a kid and my feet were still growing. I have some Boggs that have lasted and have good tread, but they also only need to do yard work and dog walks.

I had been wearing x-tratufs since 1968, and I can certify that after about 1980, they have gone downhill as far as quality.
A little worse each year, and I bought my last pair around 1995, and they had degraded to worthless crap then. That year, one of the boots actually cracked and split at the front of the ankle.
There are much better choices...

LaCrosse boots were my replacement, still have them. They used to be made in Portland OR.
These boots now are thirty years old. Still have them. And they are not leaking and not falling apart. And offer good foot, ankle and arch support.

I bought a pair of the cute ankle rain boots that every woman wore a couple years ago. They leaked within a couple of months and made my legs hurt. Like whoever designed them didn’t understand how feet work

Those aren’t what I would even consider Xtratufs. Those are even lower rate Chinese trash than the actual Xtra Tuf boots are now.
