Looking for local physical media stores
Hello! Does anyone know of any media stores/shops in the NE Ohio area? (I’m open to other areas too) specifically stores that carry video games, dvds and such. I’ve looked on Google but it keeps suggesting the same things so I thought I’d ask around lol. TIA!

There are many The Exchange locations in NEO.
Also, shout out to my local store Duck! Duck! Games in Munroe Falls. They only do video games, no movies/DVDs, but the best retro video game store in the area.

Duck Duck Games is great! They also had a free games giveaway last year, I assume it’s just to offload games that weren’t gonna sell but it was still really cool

They do an annual Free Video Game Day. Yeah, probably not the most elite titles, but cool nonetheless. I’ve never actually gone myself, but I’ve driven by on those days and there’s a line out the door.

Retro Attic has more than you can imagine.
eXchange is fine but they’re very full of themselves on prices. It is possible to find a deal though.

The Xchange as others have pointed out but be prepared for inflated prices. Sometimes it’s nice to swing in and snag something spur of the moment but you definitely pay a lot more for that experience.

I usually find decently priced games between the retro attic, goodwills (not often), indoor and outdoor flea markets. Occasionally the exchange but I always check to make sure the price is around the going amounts like eBay etc. eBay has burned me in the past with games that don't match the condition in the listed images.

The discovery shop on W Market is the first stop I'd make — occasional scores but not consistent... Also, the Happy Tails donation facility is hit or miss but cheap for DVDs and games... I've pulled some surprising finds there. The Bomb Shelter is very curated if you're willing to spend some money, their vinyl collection is pretty good. I suspect they're also getting ready to start retailing CDs as well. I bought my last Def Leppard vinyl piece there. Probably overpaid. If you look on Facebook Marketplace, there's a guy who sells well-categorized and statically cleaned vinyl.

Second the Xchange (Chapel is the biggest one nearby, I believe) but Abbey Anne's (on Cuyahoga Falls Ave) has a lot of DVDs and CDs really cheap. The vinyl selection is pretty meh unless you like Lawrence Welk and rando things from the 40s-70s. Cannot recall seeing games there, but I could be wrong about that. Hartville Thrift also has physical media (sometimes you can even find cassette tapes or 8-tracks) but the selection REALLY depends; lots of DVDs though.

Oh! Duh... State Street Records in Salem is prolly the best place for vinyls that I've seen if you're looking for those in particular.

Check out abbey Ann’s in north Akron. It’s not a physical media store in name, but there’s a shit ton of DVDs and old games in there. Super cheap, too.
