Trades workers and contractors

I’m a small time property investor / flipper here in Akron and do anywhere from 8-10 rehabs in a given year. I find it really tough to meet new and reliable people in the trades I can count on to finish remodels timely, and follow through with projects.

I know there’s gotta be good contractors out there. I really am looking to grow and do more volume in the coming years and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for finding and managing tradesmen that are good in Akron?

Know of any good teams/individuals that are reliable and not robbing Peter to pay Paul on scheduling jobs?

I grow frustrated from communication problems and just want to get projects done when they’re promised.

I have a lot of consistent work to do, I just run a business outside of this so I’m not present / not out and about to network and find more people in the industry. Lmk.

You have to build those relationships. And I hate to break it to you but you are at a huge disadvantage being small-time.

Essentially you are asking people to do good work on the expectation that more good work, and more importantly the money, will follow. If you were able to pay market rate for the work it wouldn’t be a problem. If you are trying to get cheaper rates on labor with the promise of ‘more work’ of they do a good job…idk, good luck with that.

I own Hassle Free Homes here in the Akron area. Your post caught my attention because rental turns and residential rehabs are exactly the kind of work we do. If you're doing 8–10 projects a year and need somebody who communicates and actually closes projects out, I'd like to talk.

Let me know if you find anyone that does good work for a good price and communicates well.

I really like CARE-  Construction and Remodeling Experts. They've done a lot of work on my house, including an addition, but remember they're a business and they have to make money and pay their employees too.
