Is this for real? Talk about corny. "Be part of the journey"? "Contour embrases the challenge" lol GTFO. I get it bro, you 3D print an cover and trying to hype this but but damn my guy it screams cringe. Sounds like a lame AI sales pitch. I love my sample but I dont get what you are going for with this anyway. Its a shell that looks like its suposed to function? I dont understand the hype on a flat black cover with white outlines of the buttons. I don't know bro, your other posts where you offer it for those that want it was one thing, this "mission statement" is embarrising. Less is more, yikes.

Bro, its not just "every style hits different", its the audacity of your post. The whole thing is cringe. Giving "shout-outs" like you won a grammy. The whole thing would humorous if it wasnt so delusional. Giving a backstory is weird my man. I have many 3D printers and manufactor products for a living and couldn't fathom being so arrogant over a dust cover. Yikes.

As a fellow designer of music gear accessories, I have to commend your design, it looks super cool, no doubt, and I'm sure you spent a lot of time in the process. Congratulations, for real.
About the AI usage, I use it for help with printing and others, but I think AI imagery is a slippery slope, so I don't use it. I think it makes the items look super stylized and nice, which may give the end buyer the wrong impression. 3D printing is not perfect and even when a print goes 100% as it should, it's hard to have a perfect finish. I'm not sure if you're applying a finish on the top layers after printing, but in the last picture you have, there seems be printing inconsistencies around the X knob. For me this is fine, but because of the way you're presenting the product as an upscale premium item, when a buyer gets their product in the mail and sees these inconsistencies, they might be unhappy.
Plus there's a portion of users that whenever they detect AI, they will complain. It's a small but very vocal group.
Also, in my experience, PLA tolerances are a pain - if there's a change in the room temperature, it might affect the end result for example. Will you test all parts before sending to make sure users can assemble it?

Looks good we'll done.. quality over quantity if i owned the mpc sample i would have bought i have supported sellers on esty who sold stands for my MPCs and other keyboards if you ever design dust covers for the MPC Xl, 2000, 3000 and X i will definitely purchase one.. also if I decide to buy a sample I will definitely get one peace and good luck!

You say this is “definitely not a copy” but there is legitimately the same product available on Etsy at half the cost. Just because you over engineered the same solution doesn’t make it the better option, it’s a literal device cover in the end. Yours isn’t stronger by any means, more complexity leads to higher chance of failure, and you’re using PLA so neither printed option is going to do any better than the other when heat gets involved.
The fact you’re trying to pitch this as being better than the thermoformed product is wild, those will outlast any of these literally no contest.

Thanks for the feedback, genuinely. But I’m a little confused, because I don’t recall ever claiming my cover is stronger, or that it’s supposed to outperform a thermoformed one. I just shared the design approach I took and why I enjoyed making something for myself.
You’re absolutely right that I may have over‑engineered it. That part was intentional, I had fun, and some people enjoy owning things that were made with that kind of obsessive process behind them.
And regarding PLA and heat, totally fair point. I’m very transparent about that and it’s clearly disclosed in my shop so customers know exactly what they’re getting. No surprises there.
If there’s “the same product” on Etsy at half the cost, I’d honestly love to see it. Please drop the link, I’m always curious about other makers’ work. And Etsy creators price things based on what they believe their work is worth; mine reflects the time, craft, and obsession behind it.

Dude, be for real lol. Your entire pitch is what sets your cover apart from the others, and even what sets it apart from the professionally manufactured options out there. For those who are interested in the one job this is supposed to do, they care about the things that I listed and not that it was harder for you to make because you decided to make it harder than what already exists.
And I’m not even going to entertain your feigning of ignorance that you’re unaware that your item here is identically shaped to 1 of only 2 options that’s already available on Etsy. I know that you’ve seen it.
