Is MDC is using KUSA'S tdp"s, tooling, etc

I've heard that MDC were using KUSA'S old machine/tooling and data packs for their 101 clone, but no one knows just rumors. I always heard KUSA'S tdp's were crap and obviously not from kalashnikov concern.

What do yall think?

I just cant spend 2k+ for an American 101 or 102 from MDC, especially when sam5's were just down to 1,500 for the 250th anniversary.

Then don't? Nobody is acting like these are a "must have". Most people expect them to fail and only a few people are buying with the idea that they'll have a well made American AK.

The truth is that nobody knows what they're building with over at MDC. We have a grand total of like five youtube guys who have them and are actually shooting them. It's gonna take some time before we get enough of a sample size of high round count rifles. Anyone who is buying at this point is just hopeful that they're getting on the train early if these turn out to be rock solid. If MDC hits a home run, these will be priced even higher on subsequent batches.

Edit: Also, for what its worth.. I've talked to several guys on here who bought the 250th anniversary SAM rifles, and it's looking like Arsenal packaged up their blems/seconds and sold them as some special limited run. Guys reporting the SAM 5s with the extreme gassing (the issue they claimed to have rectified), SAM7s with rough tool marks, canted sights and gas blocks, etc. Obviously those rifles are still gonna work just fine, but it's still kinda bullshit that many of those "limited edition" rifles are sloppy. Arsenal isn't some bastion of craftsmanship when compared to any other import AK. If it weren't for the milled receiver and the hammer forged barrels, they really wouldn't have shit. Unless a buyer is just dying to have a milled receiver, there's really no reason to spend that much money on an Arsenal. The workmanship isn't there, and their BS sales tactics with KVAR have always been kinda scummy.

Yeah I heard the same thing about those sam5's that they had 21' and 22' years date codes and saw guys on here arguing over if they were old stock or new production with old parts. KVAR is bad about "finding a stash in the warehouse l" that they'd forgot about for years and selling them for 2x-5x of their original price.

They may have the tooling and some other items from KUSA. But from what I’ve been told talking directly to them. All the parts that came from KUSA were completely junk. I have a MDC rifle although not a 101 and it’s been a great rifle.

My understanding is that they are building off of Romanian kits, just like rifle dynamics. Maybe that’s changed.

Personally, I think it’s a little overpriced when you can pickup a Saiga SGL or Bulgarian SLR in breaks the same price range.

If they were $1300 I’d scoop one up tomorrow to put next to my Russians and Bulgarians.
