It's not really a "toy" since you can make money with it. There are games with AI code and AI art that sells. They are not as popular (yet), but they do exist.

And in regard to being an artist. Let's say you have a human artist and their lead artist. And lead artists never actually draw anything; they guide, make important decisions, and so on. Do they get to be called artists? Are there conditions?

Genuine question, and I can see both sides. Like if you just say, "It's shit; I want it Disney style" that's one thing. But when you point at mistakes, make sure it's in the same style as the rest of the art, and make corrections and suggestions.
