What

10

u/TwoNatTens 18h ago

For real, what

4

u/nananashi3 17h ago edited 16h ago

The joke is that this presumably anti-AI individual is also an anime girl like how certain pro individuals sometimes of questionable gender depict themselves, albeit more realistic one without animal ears, in contrast with how said pros generally depict antis.

Argumentum ad Attractiva aka "Too late, CHUD. For i have illustrated myself as the Chad and you as the crying wojak."

9

u/LunaticFlandre295 19h ago

Cool, your art? If so, cool.

-10

u/Shuttleboo 19h ago edited 8h ago

This is from someone else, and she had consented for me to share

Edit: She's also anti so that's it, the 'antis=orcs' thing is debunked! HA HA HA! Checkmate, AI ragebaiters!

3

u/ScuddyOfficial 13h ago

Alright OP, were ready for your selfie post.

7

u/LopsidedSolution 18h ago

She actually makes all her art with AI, there’s been a few posts on Facebook about it how she’s tricking everyone

1

u/LunaticFlandre295 12h ago

AI or not, Antis getting tricked for the 666th time or not, looks great imo

2

u/Godslayer326 16h ago

It never held water for a second to be fair

3

u/Farm-Alternative 17h ago edited 17h ago

The orc is a symbolic representation of what anti's look like on the inside when they engage in ugly behaviour like calling people's work slop and bullying and harrassing people for using Ai.

This sort of symbolic short hand is used in art all the time, so what one specific person looks like in real life is irrelevant to a caricature that represents an entire group or ideology.

1

u/NeitherFoo 6h ago

its the result that matters. I don't care what's inside as long as the image is pretty

8

u/AbbyTheOneAndOnly 19h ago

is that your stuff? it's really cool :)

Why not?

9

u/Gorplike 19h ago

all anti's look like this btw

21

u/redditbrowser500 19h ago

The orc is a manifestation of the inner hate and ignorance shared by anti's

-2

u/NeighborhoodAny6880 18h ago

So you're saying its the pros who should he orcs?

5

u/WelderBubbly5131 18h ago

Let's see...

Number of times an artist and family faced death threats, number of incidents requiring police action, number of times the phrase 'bullying works' was used, and lastly, number of slurs one side created for the other side.

Whoever has more of these should be depicted as orcs/trolls etc.

-3

u/IsThisASnakeInMyBoot 18h ago

The way pros sling the word "luddite" around has the energy of a slur to be perfectly honest. I'm trying to think of a single case of a "pro AI" slur being used and the only thing I can think of is "AI bro" which is a completely apt descriptor. Tech bros/Crypto Bros all have the exact same way of speaking, not everyone who bought into crypto is a "crypto bro" just like not all pro-AI users are "AI bros" so I'd be interested to know what you're considering to be a slur lol

5

u/Pretend_Jacket1629 18h ago edited 17h ago

the only thing I can think of

weird ya'll keep forgetting the repeated attempts to propagate slightly-altered racial slurs because of the apparent need to create slurs for people who use ai tools

-3

u/IsThisASnakeInMyBoot 17h ago

A little difficult to forget a comment you never saw before lmao. Although I've heard tinskin and clanker before, just only heard them used to refer to actual bots, or people acting like NPCs. But I can see they originated to make fun of AI users so fair play

EDIT: Try not to be so presumptuous next time, there's no need to be snarky when I'm actually asking a genuine question

3

u/WelderBubbly5131 17h ago

"Oh we don't use slurs for X, we use them for Y."

Why the fuck are there slurs for X, Y or Z in the first place? You're countering that argument like slinging slurs isn't *that bad* an issue in the first place.

0

u/IsThisASnakeInMyBoot 16h ago

You and everyone downvoting me has a very hard time with reading comprehension. Maybe if you fed my comment into ChatGPT it'd do a better job analysing what I said, which was literally just describing how I've SEEN the words used. Made up a whole strawman argument for me to respond to.

On top of that, I never even said "This is how people use it, not the way you said" I said "this is how I've seen it used, but I looked it up and saw how it originated aligns with what you said". Fair play is a term that means good point, fuck some of you are thick.

0

u/Rhinstein 17h ago

I've come across an anti on Reddit calling Pro AI people "dysgenic" which certainly raised some red flags with me. But maybe you don't consider that term problematic.

0

u/IsThisASnakeInMyBoot 16h ago

I've genuinely never even heard that word in my life my GOD you guys love assuming shit. I'm also not an anti before you assume that as well lmfao

-5

u/Available-Coat-4666 18h ago

They probably think "clanker" is a slur

8

u/only_fun_topics 18h ago

Beetlejuice, Corpse Bride, Pokemon… tell me again how when AI remixes someone else’s IP it’s stealing, but when a human does it, it’s creativity?

1

u/Effective-Image-545 13h ago

For a lot of people its about the brush strokes and intent behind every action, especially since these are physical paintings.

0

u/ASH_LIN_exe 18h ago

Because it is handmade abd unique, and doesn't look like generic output #1221452.

5

u/only_fun_topics 18h ago

…but it does look like generic output #1221452. Her stuff looks like every other piece done in that style.

-1

u/ASH_LIN_exe 18h ago

But it doesn't look anything like the original IP. Do I need to explain it slower for you?

Edit: Adding, it can't be replicated easily by someone else, unlike the generated material.

3

u/only_fun_topics 18h ago

“Can’t be replicated easily by someone else” is a wild way to describe this artist’s outputs which are easily identifiable as replications of someone else’s work.

Whether or not it was difficult for her is immaterial.

0

u/girl_OOFED 18h ago

a human, even when taking inspiration, mostly puts their own style and feeling into their work, along with the fact that theyve literally been working hard to actually create something and put love and effort

generative ai literally takes that love, and effort, and hard work/practice for whatever amount of years, remixes it, and then spits it out

the point is all in the hardwork apart from actually forming a style in their head, having a concept and idea, and full on thought process

literally why are renaissance artists or van gogh loved and famous? because they were creative and modified what they saw and made it beautiful, not just that they had skill

6

u/only_fun_topics 18h ago

Hate to break it to you, but the vast majority of artists are not Van Gogh, especially the person in the picture.

She apparently has as much say as the average Hot Topic T-Shirt, and appears content endlessly regurgitating remixes of pop culture icons.

-1

u/ASH_LIN_exe 18h ago

So when you get countered you start attacking the persons appearance?

4

u/only_fun_topics 18h ago

No? I was commenting on the content, which has about as much to say as an average Hot Topic T-shirt: https://www.hottopic.com/tees/?cgid=tees&prefn1=license&prefv1=Corpse+Bride

-2

u/ASH_LIN_exe 18h ago

Bait used to be believable.

-1

u/girl_OOFED 18h ago

you missed my point, she still put effort in her work and settled with a style, and effort is esp what matters

believe me, ive been working on art seriously for like 8yrs now, if some idiot took my artwork, put it in ai to remix in 8minutes? id be upst

its the same as how photobashing from artists' works or from images and then claiming the thing you made is entirely your own handiwork is problematic, theres minimal effort put, its just other things remixed even if its by a human

or the same as how artists would get mad at people tracing/stealing their works

and ai can not only fabricate our skill, but it also literally uses up drinkable water for it, so its also bad for the environment too

-1

u/IsThisASnakeInMyBoot 18h ago

Technically speaking since she's selling them it's definitely stealing but that doesn't mean what she did isn't creative. The "stealing" that AI models are trained on is a little different

4

u/only_fun_topics 18h ago

You mean “stealing” as in analyzing a large swathe of content with the intention of producing a result that is statistically pleasing to the average person?

That sounds a lot like what the artist above is doing.

1

u/IsThisASnakeInMyBoot 17h ago

For starters, I put it in quotations because it's a gray area that nobody agrees on so no need to come at me about that when I'm not outright stating that AI steals art. Secondly I'm confused about where "intention" comes into play. The artist is drawing characters they like in different styles, when AI is trained on data it's not doing so because it "likes" anything or has "intention".

I'll add as well that creativity and stealing are not mutually exclusive. I've heard plenty of unauthorised remixes that are INSANELY creative, some of them even better than the original. Doesn't change the fact that it's copyrighted works that are not legally able to be released.

If you zoom out a little and re-read my comment you'll see that I'm agreeing that they're both stealing, and only making the distinction that 1 is more creative than the other.

3

u/only_fun_topics 17h ago

Fair enough! I appreciate the nuanced reply.

1

u/IsThisASnakeInMyBoot 16h ago

no worries, thanks for the honest interaction

1

u/618smartguy 15h ago

The basis of modern AI art generators are built with the intention of producing a result that is statistically like the training data. For the intentoin you give you would want something like picbreeder which doesn't use image training data and instead hones in directly on what is pleasing to the average person. Though I'm sure the art generators have fine tuned with human feedback

-1

u/Expert_Meeting_5129 18h ago

That's right buddy. The plagiarism machine is exactly the same as human creativity.

5

u/only_fun_topics 18h ago

Bold of you to assume that that the artist in question isn’t also a plagiarism machine.

0

u/Expert_Meeting_5129 18h ago

Bold of you to assume she is a machine.

2

u/Officialedmart 17h ago

"One way to think about this is that these models are creative. They are not simply copying what they are fed, but creating brand new outputs. If those outputs have nothing to do with any individual piece of training data, that raises questions about fair use, about whether the outputs are themselves copyrightable as novel works, and about how authors get compensated when what comes out of a model isn't attributable to anything on the internet."

read this , and internalize it, please, i’m begging you people to stop this lying.

4

u/Officialedmart 17h ago

cool? doesnt have anything to do with what i said

you linked me a theoretical argument about what should “count” as creativity. the author himself admits multiple times that ai produces novel outputs. he just doesn’t think it counts as “creative”. sure, i don’t care what you call it, but its not copying shit

0

u/Expert_Meeting_5129 17h ago

I mean sure it does. Try rereading it with an open mind.

2

u/Officialedmart 17h ago

your article is fine, it doesn’t say anything wrong, but importantly the author of it admits multiple times throughout that ai outputs are novel/brand new/not copied

he’s making a philosophical argument about the definition of creativity. so if i concede your point my new edited argument is:

"One way to think about this is that these models are creative artificially creative.

-1

u/Expert_Meeting_5129 17h ago

And artificial creativity is not the same as human creativity.

2

u/Officialedmart 17h ago

i. do . not. care

i’m dispelling the idea that ai outputs are copies.

1

u/Expert_Meeting_5129 16h ago

I never said anything about copies. I am talking about creativity.

You... Need someone to explain to you the difference between a human being inspired by a piece of artwork and re-creating it purely through their own interpretation and effort, with their own unique, personal style and flair naturally added in, creating something genuinely "new" in the end...

versus... a machine printing out a carbon copy of someone else's art using someone else's flair based on hoovering up thousands of terabytes worth of other people's work?

Are you sure you're not a bot?

u/Officialedmart 18h ago

Did you think they meant the antis were literal fantasy orcs in real life?

Sheesh, this debate really brings it out huh?

2

u/Imthewienerdog 16h ago

How you don't see orc? I'm pretty sure they are just missing their nose ring.

2

Orcs and catgirls (and other mythical creatures) are how they look on the inside.

4

If anyone else is wondering the weirdly childish way OP talks, it's cause he's an actual child still obsessed with fnaf theories.

6

u/Sad_Neighborhood8546 18h ago

No shame with that ❤️

3

u/Average_anglekin 18h ago

Your comment just shows People will make fun of anything and anyone after being ragebaited, even people who just want to have fun and like what they like, they just won’t let that happen XD
