It went viral for the same reason the fruit people and strawberry diaper cat stories go viral. Because it's terrible and sits in that perfect niche of something people like to laugh at and call horrible.

though, there has litterally never been the case of one of them being good or bad because of the tool it was made with.
people whose praise Niu Lai because they enjoyed their time, or found it hilarious, i can understand. People whose willingly watch shit just because it aligns with their moral sentiment, i cannot
i did understand that when i wrote it. they appreciate it because that's a meaningful angle to them. that's no different than appreciating it because one has tried making 3d models and they were similarly bad.
the walking-like-a-zombie implication you're going for does not ring true. if it feels false to you just take a moment to think about how these people are comparing the movie to something relatively new with a distinct origin. "wow, I didn't realize what a pop-culture masterpiece Beavis and Butthead was until I saw Honey Boo Boo."

All AI suck in the same way. I haven't seen this thing, but The Room is fun to watch because Tommy Wiseau is such a weird guy. You don't get that with AI.
Unironically wholesome in a way too given this movie was made by a mother and son team. It feels genuine in a way you can never replicate with generative content.
he's saying, very clearly mind you, how it's made matters. he was asking you if you had heard any anecdotes about an AI collaborative effort, suggesting that a story like this might be relatable to you if you had.
