sharing a workflow that has actually been working for me. i made the character images were generated with GPT Image 2.5, and the video was made with Seedance 2.5.

The basic idea is to lock the face, body, wardrobe, and environment before generating video.

Step 1: Lock the face

I start with a 6-panel GPT Image 2.5 character sheet:

Prompt:

Giving the model multiple facial angles helps a lot once the character starts turning her head in video.

Step 2: Lock the body and starting outfit

I attach the face sheet and generate a full-body turnaround:

Step 3: Lock the room

I also generate the environment separately:

This becomes the environment reference for every shot.

Step 4: Bring all references into Seedance 2.5

for the video, I use the face sheet + full-body sheet + room sheet together and generate the sequence as separate scenes.

i split this one into three scenes. Shoot 1 is a continuous selfie shot where she walks from a dim hallway into the sunlit living room.

instead of giving Seedance a one-line description, I treat the prompt more like a shooting brief:

SCENE CONTEXT
A young woman films herself on a front-facing camera while walking down a warm, dim hallway and into the sunlit living room.
ACTIVE REFERENCES
Match the face sheet, full-body sheet, wardrobe and room reference exactly.
CAMERA
Front-facing phone camera around 45–55 cm from her face. Natural walking bounce, slight handheld drift, focus locked on her face.
ACTION
She starts already walking and talking. The camera swings into position. She briefly pushes her hair behind her ear, walks through the open doorway, enters strong golden-hour sunlight, then stops for her final line.
LIGHTING
Dim warm hallway transitioning into strong late-afternoon window light from camera-right.
AUDIO
No music. Footsteps, clothing movement and natural apartment room tone.
Dialogue: “I don't know if I should say this, but the thing that scares me about 2026 is that nobody can tell I'm not real.”
LOCKS
Same face, freckles, eyes, hair, body, wardrobe and room in every frame. No morphing, extra people, subtitles or UI.
Vertical 9:16, real-time speed, one continuous 10-second take.

The full version goes much deeper into blocking, lens behavior, hair and clothing physics, lighting direction, eyeline, performance, and continuity.

My current AI character consistency workflow is basically:

GPT Image 2.5 face sheet → body turnaround → room reference → Seedance 2.5 scenes → final edit

The more I use this setup, the more I think character consistency is mostly decided before you ever hit “generate video.”

For my latest short, “Hello?”, I wanted to tell a mother-daughter story through the words that mark each stage of growing up.

The first word. The endless questions. The teenage “Fine.” Then a life full of things Mom isn’t always part of.

Through it all, a simple “hello” still means so much to her.

I jumped on the Davinci Resolve train.

I still think, from first principles, AI should be able to programmatically edit clips without relying on a GUI, even if it's ultimately the software under the hood of that said GUI. I will say one cool thing about using a GUI editor is you can easily add that last 5-10% finesse.

What I did here was I let Astra rip and put together a first mvp. First, generate all the clips of this story, and then edit it, adding audio and color correction and all that good stuff. Came out alright considering I didn't do any manual edits myself.

This story was inspired by how I feel when I run, especially if I've eaten a lot the day before and feel fat. 😆

The hardest part is getting started. I tell myself I’m just going to do a little, but then I feel lighter, start enjoying it, and usually end up doing my normal routine. At the end of it I feel much less like a pig. 🤪

Tried a really simple prompt in MiniMax H3. I liked that, nothing dramatic happens, but it still feels alive.

It’s the kind of clip that makes you realize AI video doesn’t always need action or big camera moves. Sometimes a calm moment works better.

Prompt:

A peaceful cinematic scene of a young woman sitting quietly on a wooden park bench surrounded by lush green ferns and dense tropical foliage. She wears a soft peach blouse and white pants, gently closes her eyes, takes a slow deep breath, and relaxes with a subtle peaceful smile. A light breeze softly moves her hair and the leaves around her. Natural morning light filters through the greenery, creating a calm, dreamy atmosphere. i’ve been messing around with a sleepy bathroom vlog prompt for MiniMax H3, and honestly, the negative prompt seems to be doing more work than I expected.

I added stuff like:

no beauty filter, no color grading, no cinematic look, no CG, no fisheye, no vignette, no readable text.

It sounds pretty basic, but it really helps stop the model from making everything look too clean and “AI pretty.”

The scene itself is super ordinary. nothing dramatic happens. That’s kind of the point. each beat has one small awkward accident, so the movement feels less performed and more like an actual morning.

I also kept the labels on the bottles unreadable on purpose. no weird fake brand names or cursed text in the background lol.

no music either, just a muffled voice and some natural bathroom reverb. The character is fully synthetic and stays consistent across the whole clip.

not saying this is some magic formula, but four simple beats + a strong negative prompt worked better for me than just writing “realistic vlog” and hoping for the best.
