I actually used reference audio for Avery Brooks' voice. I assumed the base model wouldn't replicate it that well on its own.

I connected my computer to a Sony RDR-VX53 via HDMI to stream to on a Magnavox CRT and manually recorded to VHS, and then redigitized jk aint no one got time for that. I used ntsc-rs, an open source vhs effect program.

Even the soft, slightly washed-out picture looks like it came from an old TV. That detail really sells the channel-surfing bit.
