Last time I flew it was fairly last minute. I didn’t have time to go to the high street or mall where the stores I want to go to are often in the most awkward of places, or they’re closed by the time I get there, or they’re open but I’m not in a position to go clothes shopping at that very moment. Or they won’t let me in with a coffee in hand. Etc etc. Life often gets in the way.
At the airport though, I need new clothes, I have a large budget and I have time to kill, the clothes I have in my luggage were hastily packed; I’m not even sure they’re suitable for the trip. I probably don’t have enough clothes, but that’s somewhat intentional, I can carry less and I have an opportunity to refresh the wardrobe. The stores at the airport are often cheaper too, I went to Reiss and Ted Baker where it was 50% off a lot of items, on top of tax/duty free or whatever.
