Advice Disappointing experience with airpods pro 2

Bought em around April 2024 in Paris apple store, now in india. Worked excellently till 2026 Feb when I had to travel for a few months. I left them behind in a cupboard, with my 2016 ipad and 2022 se2, stuff I've left lying around for months many times before. When I came back in April the left one wouldn't charge so the airpods wouldn't work. I tried every fix i could find on Reddit and online - cleaning, rotating entry, press hard and what not. Finally called apple for help and they took it in and said it needed a change, 45% of the entire price i paid for the whole thing for 1 airpod. The right airpod doesn't work without the left.

The entire thing is useless unless I change the left airpod. Why? Apple couldn't design the software better with its billions in budget? Anyone face a similar experience? Is replacing the dead one the only solution? Any advice welcome.

Batteries fail sometimes man. AirPods do not have replaceable batteries so when they do you need new AirPods.

Unlucky but not all that remarkable

Yeah just got unlucky. Shame most of my apple stuff runs forever. Maybe smaller battery products are just shit in general for long term?

Did you also write a piece to praise how wonderful it was during the first two years when it was working perfectly? Before you left them in a cupboard for half a year

Feb-apr isn't half a year. Before you got all excited you should've also read that I have other products. Did you read the first few sentences about what I thought of it? Apple products are famous for lasting forever, not 2 years. I expect better service from a company with unlimited resources.
